I just found an email from an old member of this site in a rarely used e-mail address.... to do with something that should be worrying anyone involved in racing. Basically the Beeb want to cutback from the current already sparse coverage to possibly just 2 major meetings a year - the Derby and Grand National.

----------------------------------------

Don't know if you are aware of a petition on the 10 Downing Street website to stop the BBC's drastic reduction in their racing coverage. Could you put a link on Win2Win to the petition.

The BBC is our public broadcaster, with racing attracting the second biggest attendance. The cut backs are not reasonable.
A lot of us first became interested in racing through BBC coverage. We need the BBC to attract the next generation of racegoer / racing enthusiast.
Without it sponsership may well go down, revenues may be hit and British Racing may not be able to attract the best horses.

Thankyou

Here is the link to the petition.

Maybe they can stick a few more cookery shows on instead.
