Hello to all concerned who use the AUTO-SYS, Mat has just emailed me to ask if I would let everyone know that he is having internet issues, and that he won't be able to get Auto-Sys online today and that he apologise's for the dip in service.
He will of course redress the problem as soon as possible.
Cheers Plater

Thanks for that Plater.
Sorry about that everyone but it seems work, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to introduce a new internet policy that bans all gambling sites without informing the staff about this new policy, presumably because the new the fuss I would kick up. I can't access the sites needed to run Auto-Sys so I can't upload the qualifiers, nor can I put any bets on during the day. I can't even read the sports headlines on Sporting Life!
I'll be having a chat with Keith to see what we can do about this and will let you know...

Do you have a 'personal' laptop you could take to work - that way you could maybe get a mobile broadband USB dongle just for getting the data and uploading?

I work for a fairly small employer (~80 people) and they have introduced this new IT policy without consulting the staff so rather than play by their rules I am busy fighting to get the service restored. I am going to play hardball and threaten to quit if necessary.
The company has started to suffer serious financial problems in the last few weeks, since we lost a major client at the start of the year accounting for around 40% of our income. Because of that the purse strings have tightened but they have also started to crack the whip unfairly on the staff and withdrawn certain 'privileges' such as unrestricted internet access. My gambling isn't illegal nor offensive and I limit it to lunchtimes (give or take a few minutes here and there that amounts to no more than a coffee break) so I am prepared to fight hard!

Good luck to you Mat... I think there will be quite a few employers using the current financial situation to scare the crap out of their workers by threatening and bullying them as they know they will do just about anything to keep their jobs... as a key worker you would seem to have a bit of leverage though - just hope they go for it!

And weirdly this morning I have access to the forum, Sporting Life and all the data required for Auto-Sys so I am uploading the qualifiers now in case I lose access later on.

I hope you don't find a P45 on your desk :omg:
