now i know it's only cards but iv'e been playing mainly on pokerstars recently and they have a $50k garuenteed tourny coming up for uk and ireland residents only , so i entered a freeroll to win a place played for over 2hours 30min i',m now on 67k in chips theres 34 players left in top 18 qualify i get dealt A9s i raise to 3xbb and get called in 3 places flop comes Ah 9c 6d player before me calls all in other 2 fold, he has me covered, if i call and win i'm chip leader if i fold i've still 63k left what can he have to beat me ? so i call he turns AKc and hits a king on the river, this has really ::swear me off i don't know why perhaps it 's because i had played a great game all night won a few, stole a few and then that happens , i haven't played since and am really thinking about packing it in but i'm bored and might have a game know but my mindset is all wrong i know i couldn't play a long tourny so might just play a stt for small stakes.

I know how you feel mate.

I've packed it in about 5 times already this year and still I think I'm able to come back and make money from it. The worst thing is that I actually enjoy playing - the logic, the maths, a game of cards, I love that, I enjoy it. Money aside, that's the worst bit to have to move away from.

Anyway, in your case, yeah I'd be pretty miffed to be honest - I'd have called to see the flop with a 3 x BB raise but I'd never push the flop with only top pair, top kicker. Until you announced he had AK I thought he might have had a pair of 6's and had you well and truly beat. But if he did have he'd never push...
