It's a swingy way of betting with a few losses able to wipe out months of profit but get it right and it's a great buzz. Banks grow steadily punctuated with occasional drops whereas with backing it can often be the other way round - a few winners can send the bank soaring but generally bets lose you a small amount (the stake).

What on earth was Barry Geraghty up to there?!

The horse appeared to be travelling well up until that point. :(

Thanks for the advice, im planning a £200 bank, therefore the min Betfair stake, my only concern is most of my bets have to be put on the night before and the prices are really high, i will have to get into the habit of doing it during my luncbreak:thumbs

I have never layed to BSP so I don't know how it really works...

Im not sure myself:doh
i think you put in youre max liability ie £30 and it is divided by whatever the SP is even with an odds limit ? therefore i would win (hopefully) various amounts depending on the SP.

Anyone use it ??

Great day for me, even though I had to go out for most of the afternoon so shoved all the bets on from about 2pm onwards and crossed my fingers. I hit some winners on the lays to finish around breakeven overall on the lays but well up on the backs and the football to make it a nice end to the month. The month was only breakeven as a spell in the middle really killed me, in fact 17th October was my 5th worst ever day, but the last week or so has really helped undo a lot of that damage.

W2W Systems: 6 from 6, up 15.43pts
W2W Lays: 8 from 9, up 1.95pts
Other: 30 from 60, up 30.67pts

My best day of the month in cash terms :thumbs

Great day for me as well, which put me on about levels for the month.

Just done a bit of accounting and I had one football result down wrong (I had recorded Burnley v Hull as a draw) which makes a significant difference to things. My actual figures for yesterday were:

W2W Systems: 6 from 6, up 15.43pts
W2W Lays: 8 from 9, up 1.95pts
Other: 30 from 99, down 392.00pts

That looks like a big loss on the Others but I run a football system that sees bets of anything from two points to hundeds of points and it was one of those bets that I had settled as a winner instead of the loser it actually was. I'm not at all worried about losing those points though as I know I'll get them back in the coming months. History says for this system that January is a great month and will see some big wins. I have also included some placepot bets from yesterday (38 lines in total) that all lost so that's a loss of 38pts. But in cash terms it will all be covered by a bonus from Betfair.

Overall I made a small loss on the month in cash terms (not break even as I claimed earlier) but it was still not a bad one overall, given some of the days I had. In points terms I finished the month up 32.68pts.
