As this category,will include the past as well as the present i felt it would not be off topic to include the above.
I really morn the loss of this great British racing daily and although for years after its demise by necessity i used the racing post,to my mind the LIFE was 10 lens in front.now that i have made the switch to using an electronic form book i never read the post.
An interesting story concerning the above was that when Maxwell bought mirror group there was much speculation about his leaked intention to sort out the unions.Very much tongue in cheek i phoned asking to speak with him much to my suprise having as requested left my phone number 15 mins later i recived a call from him.he asked my first name and when i put to him my concerns regarding the future of the LIFE he replied "Michael not only is its future guaranteed but i am going to increase the content and circulation"
Like a real mug i belived this and went around repeating it to all my racing acquaintances.
