You're probably sharing the line with folk downloading a lot of stuff. Residential lines share it between 50 people at a fixed total bandwidth.

thanks mate,i am still enough of a computer duffer,that i always get concerned, that every thing is about to pack up which i no is a bit silly had mine for a year now with no problems,is there a generally accepted avg life span for a lap top mines an HP G70.
