Bill wrightman was in my view a very astute trainer who it would seem preferring to keep a low profile never really got the publicity or horses he deserved. i have very fond memorys from goodness noes how many years ago of IMPORT trained by him winning the Wokingham.
I formed the impression that he did make his betting pay and i think he may have been referring to this in a rare interview when he described horse racing as being"Hours of misery,moments of magic".
