Staking Plan for Halfway House/Daily Mirror System

Here as I promised is a staking plan that may be suitable for the above systems or any that is good at finding the winners on a regular basis (I wish).
It is not my invention and as I said it may not be for everyone but give it a go on paper. There is a little preparation but it will be worth it.
I will demonstrate using today's (28th May 2004) SF selections from the Daily Mirror. It will become clearer as the chart starts to be filled in.
The main aim is to make 10 points profit per race, a point in this example is £1.00, it can be 1p, 10p, £10.00, or whatever you want.
Never bet at 'odds on'. Double check all your calculations.
Once you have mastered the quick calculations you have to make it should become very easy to do, a small calculator will be best in the betting shop.
To start make a chart with the following headings.
POINTS. The amount you wish to profit by on each race. 1 point = £1.00
    TIME. Time of race.
    HORSE. Name of Horse.
ODDS. Odds of selection you are backing.
STAKE. Stake you place at the odds shown in column 4.
RESULT. Result of race. W=win L=loser.
W/L. winning made with stake or amount needed to get back into profit.
PROFIT. Your profit from a win less stake.
POINTS. Points required for the next race.
On the first day you start with 10 points in column 1. To work out your stake find the odds of your selection and divide the number in column 1 by the first number of the odds then multiply by the 2nd number of the odds e.g. column 1 shows 10 points, odds of 7/2, 10 divided by 7 = 1.42 x 2 = 2.85. This is then rounded up to the nearest £5.00, put this stake amount in column 5. Always round up even if it is £5.01. If you are using 1p per point round up to nearest 5p, 10p per point round up to nearest 50p, £10.00 per point nearest £50.00 etc.
A £5.00 stake at 7/2 will give you £17.50 profit plus your £5.00 stake back. If the horse wins put the total amount of £22.50 in column 7 and your actual profit of £17.50 in column 8. 10 points is then placed in column 9 and carried forward to column 1 on the next line.
    What if it loses?
Add together the points in column 1 and the stake in column 5 and put this figure in column 7. Now add 10 to the figure in column 7 and put this total in column 9, this is the amount of points needed to catch up your profit, then carry this number forward to column one on the next line. e.g. £5.00 staked at 7/2 (lost) 10 points + £5.00 stake = 15 + 10 points = 25. This is the amount needed to catch up. DO NOT PANIC, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN.
The next odds are say 4/1. 25 divided by 4 x 1 = 6.25. Round up to nearest £5.00 = £10.00 staked. It it wins at 4/1 you are back in profit. It if loses carry on with the simple calculation.
I will now show you how to work the plan with the SF selections from the Daily Mirror.
POINTS. TIME. HORSE. ODDS. STAKE. RESULT. W/L. PROFIT. POINTS.
    10 2.10. No. 6 6/1 5.00 Lost 15+10 25
    25 2.20 No. 2 5/1 5.00 Lost 25+10 35
    35 2.30 No. 5 7/1 5.00 Lost 35+10 45
    45 2.40 No. 2 6/1 10.00 Lost 45+10 55
    55 2.50 No. 14 7/2 20.00 Lost 55+20 75
    75 3.00 No. 2 8/1 10.00 Won 90 35.00 10
    10 3.10. No. 4 6/4 10.00 Lost 20+10 30
    30 3.20 No. 4 7/2 10.00 Lost 40+10 50
    50 3.30 No. 11 4/1 15.00 Lost 65+10 70
    70 3.40 No. 7 5/1 15.00 Lost 90+10 100
    100 3.50 No.6 6/4 70.00 Won 245 125.00 10
    10 4.00 No.7 10/1 5.00 Lost 15+10 25
    25 4.10 No. 5 3/1 10.00 Lost 35+10 45
    45 4.20 No.14 10/1 5.00 Lost 50+10 60
    60 4.30 No.3 5/1 15.00 Won 90 55.00 10
    Total Staked £210.00.
    Total Won £425.00.
    Total Profit £215.00.
It became a little hairy in the middle but the system came through and left us with a handsome £215.00 profit on the day if we had stopped here.
I would suggest you decide how much you want to make or just stop at the first winner and then start the next day.
You could just concentrate on one meeting per day also, I used all the races from the three meetings to give an example of how it works.
If you started using 10p per stake we would have made £21.50 profit. This may be better to start with and then work up 20 points per race then 30 etc.
Hope this helps with your staking, as I said it will not be for everyone but I thought I would post it up to show something a little different.
    Good luck whatever you back,
    Dave Fretwell.

Thanks for posting that Dave, definitely a plan for a high strike rate system, as you say best starting with very small stakes and building up gradually as any sort of long losing run will get very scary!

My keyboard's running out of ink....

Agghh......followed the plan on paper for the week and did v nicely.....what happens the day i follow it?!?!?!?!?!?

11losses on the trot!!! unbelievable. The thing about this plan is that its a bit like chasing losses......I simply have to stop now cos my bank cannot live with the bets that the system requires. and sods law says that it will be the next race that wins!!!
