    dark materials trilogy

written by phillip pullman these books allthough written for children work on many levels and are just as good for adults, the best books i have read since the chronicles of thomas covenant the unbeilever they make harry potter look third rate, soon to be made into film so if you don't read look out for the movies they will be the next blockbusters.

I have an impressive bank of knowledge and experience. Unfortunately, I've lost the combination to this bank.

they should be read in order but each book stands up in it's own right,
the first book northern lights is brilliantly written ,moving and real cant put down.
the second the subtle knife is grittier and more fantasy than the first.
the third the amber spyglass is a masterpiece of the imagination a real adventure with many other things thrown in.
the good news is that he is writting a new book about lydia set 5 years into the new world , can't wait.
