Tophatters World cup wallet
Decided to treat mysely to a £100 bank for the world cup. I will post my bets on this thread with their stakes.
9/06/06
Germany v Costa Rico
First game matches are noitoriously tight in the world cup and anyhow I believe intenational football itself is a game where its not that easy to score lots of goals. Im banking on it been something lika a 1-0 or 2-0 game and am laying 3 goals or more.
Goals scored market
3 goals or more. LAY £5.00 @ 1.84 on betair

Argentina v Ivory coast.
We have had the shock result today with T&T holding Sweden and i can't see Argentina not winning this. However Im not sure how easy it will be as Ivory coast could prove awkard opponents. Im going to play the halftime/Full time market and go for these two bets.
Argentina/Argentina £10.00 @ £2.82
Draw/Argentina £5.00 @ 5.4

I thought that would be a bit of a tough game but Ivory Coast were even tougher than I expected. Got a return in the end anyhow and that is what matters.

Cheers John, traditionally I have always done badly in these summer football tournaments. I can remember a copa America game when I bet on Brazil to beat Ecuador I think - it was someone like that. It was a draw! I also backed France to beat Senegal last time out so Im well aware that tonight could have gone against me. Hope I can turn a profit in the next 4 weeks or so :)

Australia v Japan
This game should be Australias but as it is their world cup debut Im going to play it a bit safe and lay Japan instead.
As Australia are known as a physical team and the Japanese are fast and fit, I wonder if an Aussie might go to ground and mistime a tackle more than once and so will have a wager on them picking up first card.
LAY JAPAN £5.00 @ 3.35
AUSTRALIA TO RECIEVE FIRST CARD £5.00 @ 1.9

I never learn, a disgustingly passionless display by England in the first half.
I can still make some money if they hold on for the nil-nil I guess but to be honest I would rather T&T went on to win now even though it would cost me more money because England have been amongst the least inspiring of the 32 teams at this tournament so far.
