only played a few sit n gos yesterday for about 3 hours, and found it to be quite an enjoyable experience winning $107.its nice when the huge hands hold up.only once i got aces busted to a fish who went all in with his huge 7 10 suited, and hit his straight on the flop, but i still outplayed him and took his money off him

so ending the week on a high after a rocky start

had a couple of hours playing on 2 sites last night.
i won $53 on pacific, but getting aces busted on the bubble to queens wasnt nice, especially when one guy was nearly out
.
and i won $85 on the bf poker site.
so not a bad start to the week.
i hope this week that i can win the $400 that i won last week

another day of winning a small amount.i only won $30 on pacific,i got to say i lost my discipline on times.
but in one hour last night i was playing heads up sin n go on bf poker, and my balance went up £41.that must equate into about 50-55 dollars.
so all in all thats 11 out of the last 12 days of profit.

absolutely savage!!!!. thats the only explanation that i can say for yesterday.
every huge hand got smashed, big time, including trip queens.
the final straw was the last game when i just pushed preflop with aces and gets called by a shark with an even better hand, cough, cough, king 10.to my utter amazement the flop was qqk.after the day that i had you just know that the other king will come out even though he's a 10% chance.and surprise surprise, the next card is a king
.
i just had to go to bed then having lost $162 on the day.
days like that are rare for me,you get one like that about 1 in 3-4 months.
i just got to brush myself down and get back in the ring.

Quite right EP. You had a tough day but it sounds like you kept getting your money in good but just ended up on the wrong side of these hands. Poker is about making the right decisions each time even though luck means you may not always get the right result. Stick at it kid

i am officially now "on tilt".i have got to the point where i will call anything.
i have got to get the mentality back that has served me well.
so down $91 yesterday
and down $158 on the week.

a good profitible day today but the profits dont tell the story.
here is a list of knock out calls by fish
aa vs a10 8%
ak vs a9 33%
aj vs a 10 23%
10 10 vs kq 43% ok fair enough
aq vs kq 25%
77 vs a5 30%
so after a 9 hour slog i won $140

if i finished the day up $140 i would be well happy, unfortunately I dont think that there would be enough hours in the day to do that on my 5/10c tables lol.
I know its been a bit of a rough ride lately but do you think that you are well on the way to making an income from poker? Out of interest what stake tables are you playing on at the moment? Are you still playing on the triple up tables?

im on the dole now mate so this is my income now.
i play more 10 man tables than triple ups,but triple ups is my love.its a totally different game to 10 man tables, its a game where i will call any raise in position to see the flop.i should get back onto them soon because it is more profitible.
anyway as for today its been a good day on the tables winning $107.
and also a good cheltenham,i had $20 on that Garde Champetre at 4/1,so happy days

Have you tried cash games EP? I can't remember if I have asked you this before, and of so what you said in reply.
Some players suit tourneys better than cash and some the other way round. Just wondering if you had played cash to see how your results there stack up.
-

i've tried cash but its a different ball game alltogether
sit n go is my comfort zone matt,i usually know where i stand in tourneys.you need nerves of steel puting cash down per hand

Fair enough, worth me asking though. I know exactly what you mean too. I can happily play NLHE SnGs but found NLHE cash games really weren't my game. Limit cash games on the other hand, I do well at (apart from the other day when I suffered from serious brain freeze). As long as you know you're playing to your strengths that's the main thing

not the best of days yesterday.
i met a lot of aces yesterday, and also when i had them, others were hitting trips.
so at the end of play i was $15 to the good.
cheltenham was kind to me again, netting a few winners and a £50 profit,so relatively happy

a day of not paying attention due to cheltenham, and when i had big hands i lost to bigger ones.i lost with a full house 3 times yesterday, that is sheer bad luck.
so on the day i lost $30
on the horse front my betfair account is looking prosperous.i found a thread on this site this week displaying betfair market movers.all i've done is put a tenner on the horses whos prices are shrinking, and the strike rate has been excellent.
with these market movers and a good cheltenham i'm £200 to the good this week

not too worried though matt,i know that big hands are profitible.
as for these market movers,i dont know if it is profitible over a period,so i am thinking of a staking plan.the strike rate for the last 3 days is about 50%.
obviously the best plan is 1-3% of a betting bank and adjust as the bank changes.
i'll keep you informed how they go

another nothing day on the poker tables, losing $23 on pacific, and winning $50 on bf poker.
good news again on the horse front.
i had £4 win on the first winner at chelt @6/1,and the betfair market movers made a 3.5 point profit.it would have been 9.5 points if imperial skylight wasnt short headed
so on the day, fairly happy

a non gambling day yesterday due to the celebrations at the theatre of dreams:D.
gambling and drinking dont mix.
so up around $200 on the week.but my bf account shot up£300+

a poor start to the week losing $51 getting nothing most of the time, and then when i have to push i usually got the best hand but end up on the wrong side.
so today i revert back to triple up.
also today i will put betfair market movers as a system. i will put a filter into them, the filter being,
1.biggest odds,5
2.must be in first 3 in betting
it made another 3.5 points profit yesterday.
so today its a £500 betting bank and i'll be betting 2% on every selection for that day and then adjust daily

ive had a bad run for a while now,and it is still continuing.played a few triple ups yesterday, won the first 2.on the third game i gets a guy all in with qq i had kk, river card
queen, the rest is history.i loses a few more triple ups and then my confidence is shattered.so i played a few 10 man $10 tables, and at the end of play i won a massive $16
.
on the horse front my bf market movers made a loss of £19 to £10 stakes.i missed out badly on cava bien.it moved in from 4.4 into 3.45 in the morning.i managed to get 3.6 but the damn thing drifted to 6.4 and won,and that would have put me in the black.
so not a good day yesterday

a shocker again!!! after losing 8 $10 sin n gos on the trot,i manages to win 2 $20 triple ups, then a few misses and a third(or something like that).
on the day i won $26 whoooopeeee
on a better note my bf market mover system is going really well.
on the day it made a 7.6 point profit, with that damn shillingstone short headed again.
in the 2 weeks that i have been doing these it has produced 44 selections with 22 winners and a profit of 18 points,so i am very upbeat about these selections.
