appologies for my drunken rant last night,but after a week of bad beats that was the icing on the cake.
even though i didnt win the last game last night i still managed to win about $60,but all in all a poor week

fish day today,but won a bit but should have been over $100.
one instance was 3 of us left on a $20 10 man tourney,mr fish raises 3 times bb to 1200,i re raises all in and he got jq to my kk.jack on the flop and jack on the river. i gets $40 and fish gets $100
a game later, 2 of us left i hits top pair,and shark hits bottom pair,he moves all in and gets trips on the river
it can be so annoying sometimes(sorry a lot of the time)

enough is enough as donna summer once sang.
as most of you who have been following this thread know that i have made a good income over the years playing triple up sit n gos on pacific while being on the dole.
but last year i was given a good job and for some reason,i dont know why, changed back into the habit of playing 10 man sit n gos.
an to be honest you need to be lucky as well as skillful to make a profit overall on those.
but february this year i become a victim to the credit crunch and lost my job as storeman in a company that made washer systems for cars.
however i carried on playing these fish infested 10 man tables.
i have made a small profit and luckily had a spare grand floating in my account,in which i have withdrawn most of it.
so getting to the point of this post,im going back to triple ups as from now for business, and will still play the odd fish fests for entertainment but not many at all.
yesterday was a horrible time for me lost again with any 2 to sharks that are down thousands of $$$$ on the site.
but late last night i played 3 triple ups,and won 2 of them.and do you know what,IT FELT GOOD.
the bottom line is i want to see the flops,i want to play my hands,and if i think that i got you,i will take yer chips

some result for me today,had a phone call to start work again tomorrow.
good shift as well to watch the horses, 6 till 2 .
now that beats a royal flush :D

total fish weekend.at this point of time i have lost around 12 games on the bounce and a loss of $200 on the weekend.
the bottom line is,im getting beaten by luck,losing nearly all the all ins.
i'm getting soooo close to finishing people off and then they win 3 or 4 all ins on the bounce with absolute trash

now that i'm back in work my poker activities has dropped from 50 hours a week down to about 15.sofrom now on i'll do a weekly report.
anyway,last week was a good week,winning around $250, winning most of it on the weekend.
its strange that somedays you cant win a bean with huge hands,and then another day you hit everything.
at the moment im mixing my games that i play.
sometimes its 10 man $10 sit n gos,and then it could be $20 triple ups,doing ok on both.

got to post a mid week update.
just played a classic,i gets 44 and mr trout gets 78.the flop comes down 247 rainbow.
the blinds are 150 300 btw. trout bets 300 i raise to 900,trout moves all in and im 96% when i pushed
have i got to tell you what 2 magical cards come out?
its only 2 possibilities.
and the funny thing is he's up $10k on sharkscope

a mixed week really,with a lot of 80% losses on the way.
yesterday was particularly bad, losing a load of 80%ers but still managed to win about $40.
on the week i won $240 which is not bad for about 18-20 hours of pleasure/torture

one hell of a chips week,thats all i can say!!!.
ive spent all week working 12 hour shifts,so i have only spent 4 hours playing poker, one hour saturday morning and 3 hours saturday evening,but to win £170 in that time is something else, considering i lost my first 2 games of the day(10+20 man tables).the triple ups stood me in good stead,sitting there like a coiled snake waiting to pounce.the trick to winning these games is waiting until you can beat pocket aces,just let the others bet at you and then ask a serious question on the river.

a week when the fish ate the chips.i lost more 80%ers preflop and postflop than i care about.
but you just got to get on with it.

this week is a bitter pill to swallow.
i am getting beaten almost every game by absolute monkeys.
as soon as the flop hits they are attacking me big time with any 2 and catching straights,2 pair flushes,you name it and they got it and you can guarentee ive got top pair or better.
i am down $170 as i speak this week .
trust me,i aint happy

Quite a good week overall,winning $240 with most of my profits occuring friday evening and saturday afternoon.

absolute genius!!!!!
my midweek post showed a loss of 18 games on the bounce.how the can you come back from that.well in a lot of games today i cast my rod with premium bait and got some huge bites.
i never thought i'd be writing a winning post but you got to give me credit where credit is due.ive played exactly the same way that i have played ever since i started to make a profit at this game,and today was the day. at this point of writing ive won $140 this week.
its funny though because this week ive hit more sets than ever and got murdered until today

this is the end of the week for me.an up and down week to say the least, but i won $140,so not too bad a week.
anyway the reason its the end of the week is,today i'm off to a small town in idaho to get married.
why idaho?,well its where my future wife's sister lives and we are getting married in the same venue as where she got married,in a large field on a bandstand.
so i got 2 weeks to recharge the batteries and then come back with all guns blazing.

cheers guys its 9 am in salt lake city now,and were gonna have a look at the temple today,then move on to a place called palisades to see where my brother in law works,then move on to yellowstone for a few days before i get married.
its a hell of a long trip to get here,we had a 9 hour flight to mineapolis and then a 2 and a half hour flight to slc.all in all it took 24 hours to get from my front door to the hotel ,so im a bit cream crackered at the moment.

all in all it was one hell of a good trip.i've done yellowstone before,but it was just as good second time around.the scenery there is second to none.
ive uploaded a few pics from yellowstone,the first on is from jackson lake with the grand teton mountain range in the background.then we got the bison roaming around,(not to be messed around with),then we got the grand canyon of yellowstone.you have got to be there to really appreciate it.and the last one is of the hot mammoth springs.so if ever you fancy a trip to the states i would highly reccomend yellowstone and all the area around it.
as for the wedding it went really well,we had it in a park on a wooden gazebo,we all had a blast.
but coming back to the thread of poker,its been quite a shocker,a nice start by discovering i had a $95 bonus to add to my account.didnt really win or lose too much untill friday and saturday evening to the 25% sharks who would call all ins as long as the hit any card only to outdraw me.so at the end of the week ive lost that $95 plus $140 more

That fourth shot is stunning - amazing colours and composition. What sort of camera have you used? Really glad the wedding went well and congrats again! Sounds like you had an amazing time. Know what you mean about all in calls from people with only a handful of outs, they have hit me bad in the last week or so. Getting really tired of it! Good luck.

cheers john.the camera i got is a canon digital ixus 75 its a very small camera with a big screen.the photos ive taken with them are really excellent,as soon as my mother saw mine she had to get one.
she is delighted with hers as well.if you are looking for a camera check out the ixus range,they are an impressive piece of kit

its been another up and down week so far just about breaking even until tonight.
the mentality i took was not to allow fish into the pot whenever i had big pairs,but you cant keep a good fish down,i was getting paid off time after time.only once i got an all in call with my aa vs 10 6!!! and he hit 10 and 6 .
and then he called me cr@p.
i just replied that "you are too good for me" and got a sharp reply "i know".
but we need fish in the game to make it pay long term.
so on the night ive made 90 odd $'s

its one of 2 games matt.
either $10,10 man tables where its 50,30,20%,or triple up where winner takes all $10 or $20.
and i have realy got to get into the mentality that i had 2 years ago when i won $18k.
i play 10 man table so that i can browse the tinternet early on and then take notice when the blinds jump up.
triple ups is a specialist game just like heads up(more psychological).that is where i won the bucks playing those.
how about you matt are you still playing sit n gos,and what types?

what i didnt mention matt,when i play 10 man tables i only play ak or pp early on.
no other ace unless i got the dealer button.
where as on triple ups i am the ultimate fish when in position and when i hit 2 pair its fireworks

I came off the $10 STTs on PokerStars on Monday when I had a real stinker losing $120 not playing that badly. I had also reached a milestone I had set myself of 150 such events and wanted a slight change of scenery so switched to my former love of limit cash games. I am starting to regret that decision after the past couple of days though.

Poker is a full time thing for me now. I have the time and am trying to spend around 40 hours a week (at least) playing. I just need to find a game I am happy to play that much and that I can grind out a profit in but I am still struggling to handle downswings. I don't know if my recent results are just part of natural variance or whether my game has slipped so much I am a proper loser. I think from my records it's the former but confidence is a big part of my game and that is draining away with my bankroll.
