    Scoring
The person finishing with the overall highest score will be declared the winner & will win the £15 Amazon Voucher prize...however, if I score the highest, then I win and therefore won't have to shell out any prize money.

Each person will start with 100 points.
Points will be added or deducted to/from this score using the following rules:

    i) If you correctly predict the final placing of any of your nominated countries: 10 points will be added to your score.

ii) If any of your nominated countries finish in either the Top 5 or Bottom 3 zones but are incorrectly placed within those zones….. 5 points MINUS the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing will be added to your score….
For example: If you predict that the UK will finish in 2nd place but they ACTUALLY finish in 4th place…. 5 points (for correctly predicting UK to finish in the Top 5) MINUS the difference between their actual placing (4) and predicted placing (2) …………… 5-(4-2) = 3 points will be added to your score.

iii) If any of your nominated countries fail to finish in either the Top 5 or Bottom 3 zones, the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing will be DEDUCTED from your score…..
For example: If you predict that the UK will finish in 4th place but they ACTUALLY finish in 21st place…. 21 – 4 = 17 points will be deducted from your score.

    Good luck to you all

    Ada.

Its a total lottery isnt it Mat....You have Armenia to win and Sparky has them to be last!! Can't wait for the votes to come in.

By rights, it deserves to bomb - it's probably one of the worst entries we've ever submitted. Listening to it again hasn't changed my mind. In fact, 30 seconds later I can't even remember the tune, the lyrics, or any significant melody.

The BBC should've rigged the result of the poll that elected this as our entry.

    OK.......

I have the results.....but......I've been on the lash tonight......so.....

......I really think I need to verify my maths, just to make sure I don't humiliate or embarrass any of you more than is absolutely necessary... in naming you the 2008 Eurovision 'anorak' (sorry....champion).

Is it you AGAIN Iron Chris?........or has someone else saved you from eternal Eurovision Win2Win humiliation.......

    Watch this space.....

The final placings are as follows:
I realise some countries scored equal points, but the placings are based on % highest points awarded.

    1 Russia
    2 Ukraine
    3 Greece
    4 Armenia
    5 Norway
    6 Serbia
    7 Turkey
    8 Azerbaijan
    9 Israel
    10 Bosnia & Herzegovina
    11 Georgia
    12 Latvia
    13 Portugal
    14 Iceland
    15 Denmark
    16 Spain
    17 Albania
    18 Sweden
    19 France
    20 Romania
    21 Croatia
    22 Finland
    23 Germany
    24 Poland
    25 United Kingdom

So the points awarded & positions in reverse order:

    7th SPARKYMINER -7pts
    6th MATHARE 24pts
    5th BIGCUMBA 59pts
    4th GLOSRFC 64pts
    3rd SCOOBYDOO 72pts

That means it's between me & Iron Chris for the title of Win2Win Eurovision Chump (sorry Champ) 2008......

Have I managed to steal Chris's Eurovision crown & prevent his hat-trick of wins......

    In a word.......

    NO

He's only gone & done it again.......

    2nd ADA 83pts

    1st IRON CHRIS 105pts

Well done Chris......3 wins in a row.
You are the undisputed W2W Eurovision anorak.

    Congratulations

Do you want the £15 Amazon voucher sent to the Email address you used to submit your entries?

Thanks to you all for taking part.

    Well done Chris....I think anyway!!

I see Wogan is probably packing it all in...it is getting silly now isnt it. & the songs and what they get up to gets worse and worse. I only watch for the voting...honest!

I think an extra special acheivement to get a minus score.

It's hard to have a battle of wits when your opponent is unarmed.

Extra-special? All you have to do is represent the UK and you automatically end up with nul points nowadays!

There's a thought though..next year we can be represented by Sparky and the Mynah Birds singing "Be Mine Tonight", or the theme from "Shaft". Even "Hi Ho, Hi Ho"!

    Any more suggestions?

    Thanks everyone...:D

Well, what an achievment... or is that embarrassment...

The same email address will be fine Ada, thanks for running the competition and offering such a generous prize, why these things don't get more support is beyond me but we've been there before...

If only the horses and football teams performed as they were supposed to things would be a lot better...

nice one again Chris, I was surprised enough to get the winner and last and do as well as I had, as I just had an educated guess based on rumour and what little I'd heard of the UK song.

My keyboard's running out of ink....

Apologies for my absense. Love doing this every year, but unfortunately been away since Friday morning.

I'm sure I would have given Sparky a run for his money though :D

And Chris, good grief man, have you no shame
