early in a tourny.
and this is normal
well that was short and sweet damn AA
what i didn't expect was 4 people going all in but thats monkey play for you and if i'd held QQ i would have folded with 3 people already all in AA would have been hard to lay down but 4 people is a crap shoot
So if I have got this right...
You limp with A2s in late position after two others have called. Button also calls but SB raises - over-raises if you ask me. He's trying to steal out of position. The pot is 110 but he raises to 280 total. Weird!
I wouldn't overcall such a raise with A2s though, not my style at all. I forget the 20 chips I have invested and note that the SB has made a strange raise and that freaks69 has called him. But you call - fair enough. The button is priced in by now so calls, I don't mind that play really.
The SB checks after his pre-flop raise which smacks of a monster or a steal gone very wrong and I'm favouring the latter at this stage. The first caller also checks, another slightly odd play given the flop. If he has overcards I would expect a feeler bet. You lead out for 310 into a pot of 1160 I think it is. A little small for my liking bearing in mind you have the low end of the straight but is that you all-in? The button then raises all-in to get rid of the others who would have been priced in for draws had he just called. He had the odds to draw to his straight as he was open ended and there were no flushes to worry about. I don't think that play is that bad really.
nope matt i'm the 10,10
Mat, I think Silax is the username silax3, not artfllDodger... right?

i folded the 10,10 because i'm looking to go all in and want to see a cheap flop which i don't and the odds of an over card hitting on the flop are high meaning i will have to fold for a loss of 300 chips a big chunk for me. If i can see the flop i have a set and will be all in i made the right move in that one by folding its about 14/1 chance of a 10 coming up and not worth using up that much of my stack.
if my AA had held up i would have had a big stack and heading for the cash so early in the tourny hitting AA is always dangerous
matt needs bigger specs
silax needs more sex
John needs more Silax. :D
