Any advice on getting better odds on betfair?

Ive read that apparently getting a 15% overbet is easy for beginners to do on betfair whatever that means, I presure its getting better than sp odds?- I tried today for the first time to get better odds by playing the waiting game on betfair on a couple of selections but didnt really work out in my favour- any tips on how to achieve slightly better odds as i know this can make a massive diffence longterm.

I use to achieve decent gains of 17% over sp by simply taking the best available price at around 13.00 that meant i would look at oddschecker at lunchtime and take the biggest odds whether they were bookies or betfair/daq. Don't just think betfair is the way use the bookies early prices for as long as you can especially bet365 and hills as they offer early price or sp dpending on which is bigger, means you fell better when you back a drifter that wins

    I agree with that totally.

Bet365, Paddy Power, Will Hills and Stan James all offer a best price guarantee so compare them to the exchanges (accounting for commission) and take the best price going. You can easily beat SP by a decent chunk without going anywhere near an exchange by using early prices and price guarantees

As everyone says here Barrel, search around and see what's best. There are various offers about.

If you do only want to use betfair then you could do worse than just bet at Betfair SP, as 95% of the time this is over the bookies SP and in some cases massively.

Especially true with horses that drift. For example, there was a horse last week that drifted from 3/1 to 11/1 (cough - McKeown) and it was layed at 21 on Betfair (or as we like to call it - Dean's retirement account).

I've never understood the attraction of bestiality but looking back over my life it does appear as though I married a cow, lived with a moose, been out with at least 5 dogs and spent a lot of time being chased by whales.

its quite simple , you can get in to looking at the betfair charts but when i use to bet i just checked oddschecker at 13.00 and wagered accordingly. consistencey is the key and a small % over sp makes abig difference.

What about for lay bets? Im assuming that betfair is pretty much the only way to go for these- im guessing that one of the only other options would be betdaq which I have never used before but looking at the format not it seems pretty straightforward like betfair

Betfair or Betdaq - yeah. Betdaq is actually better for the smaller stakes punter in my opinion
