    Daily Waffle 29th June

A great start to the week.

My first race involves a favourite which qualified for three back systems which lost and the winner was a CD Lay.

I think that has pretty much written-off today already.

Can anyone remember the last time they backed a winner that wasn't odds-on?!

Seven system backs so far - no winners.

Three system lays - two high-priced winners.

Not a good day with lay after lay going in, including the winner in the 5.00 which I had in three systems :(

    Not great is it Mat?

It's bad enough the lays going in but I estimate I have backed over thirty horses in the last three days and only three have won. :(

I got a little bit lucky with that one as I had the winner in a back system (which has been performing terribly) so voided the lay.

Ack. Bad day so far - 2 seconds at Woverhampton at 11.0 and 11.5 - could have made a big difference. Wish Capucci had beaten your lay in the 5pm!

In a most unexpected turnaround the lays clean sheeted since my earlier post and clawed themselves back just into profit for the day. In fact they were up 4pts by the end.

The banks also clean sheeted - no winners there either. Down 5pts with two losers on my biggest bank :(

No winners from 7 lays, up 6.7pts.
2 winners from 9 backs, up 0.1pts. I was actually down in cash terms on these as the winners came on a system with much lower stakes than the rest.

Despite a better evening session, still quite a few quid down.

Following fifteen successive qualifiers without a win on the Jockey Rides system, that particular bank finally bit the dust today.

Part of me wants to just leave it there but there is another part of me which thinks that I should start it again as I feel that I may miss out on a correction if it ever comes.

Before racing last Monday, I was really hoping that the correction talked about for some three or four weeks previously was going to come sooner rather than later as I was concerned at the level of a lot of my banks.

Seven days later and I have lost almost a third of the Betfair balance I had on that day. :(
