With Massa out who else could have Ferrari pulled in though?
Marc Gene - 36-year-old Ferrari test driver who has been out of F1 for 5 years and has 5 points from 36 starts
Luca Badoer - 38-year-old Ferrari test driver who has been out of F1 for 10 years and has yet to score a point from nearly 50 starts
Fernando Alonso - rumoured to be on his way to Ferrari at the end of the season and banned from the next race due to his team releasing his car without the wheel being properly attached so could switch teams early. However, this leaves Renault without a recognised driver as they are probably going to let Nelson Piquet Jr go very soon so unlikely to happen
Michael Schumacher - 40-year-old ex-F1 driver regarded by a God as many at Ferrari. Seven times world champion and holder of many F1 records.
Hmm, tricky choice. Sure, Schumi isn't familiar with the current car and there is a testing ban this season but you can be sure he'll be spending the next few weeks in simulators etc preparing as best he can. Whether he'll be right on the money when he starts the next race no-one can be sure but it's certainly what F1 needs right now after the recent arguments between FOTA and the FIA as well as BMW pulling out at the end of the season. Can't wait for the next grand prix now.
Does this mean Top Gear need another Stig? :wink This is great news for the sport, can't wait for his first race now!
My keyboard's running out of ink....
Unfortunately Schumi has pulled out of this comeback due to a neck injury from 6 months back and Luca Badoer will take the drive instead.
