    Weekend Premier League

Well, wouldn't you just know it?!

Stephen Hunt, a hate figure for all Chelsea fans who has been consistently booed since the game began, scores the first Premier League goal of the new season on his debut to give Hull City a shock lead at Stamford Bridge.

Doesn't seem that long since the end of the season......I wonder if constant punching of myself in the nuts will slow time down....

Can't wait to see Liverpool draw tomorrow

Not really mate, I expect us to get turned-over.

Exceptionally disappointed at the lack of any first-team new faces. We already had one of the smallest squads last season and have since lost Valente, Van der Meyde, Castillo, Jacobsen and Ruddy as well as four teenagers who started the first game of last season on the substitute's bench. Throw into the mix the injuries to the spine of the team - Jagielka, Arteta and Yakubu as well as Anichebe and perennial sicknotes Saha and Vaughan, and it is not so difficult to see why your average Everton fan is a little deflated.

After the Cup Final, Evertonians breathed a sigh of relief because we thought that we would never see Tony Hibbert in an Everton shirt again and Osman would be restricted to more of a squad player. The way things have panned out, they are both likely to be permanent fixtures in the starting line-up.

Moyes has consistenty performed miracles over the years on a shoestring, however, logic says that this can't go on forever and I think that this could be the year that it goes belly-up. If it does, it will be purely down to the manager being denied the funds to strengthen.

It wouldn't surprise me if he walked away and I wouldn't blame him because he deserves so much better.

Don't get me started on the mind-numbing boredom that is the Lescott saga!

Oh dear...looks like you were right jj....poor defending for both set piece goals. Denilson's goal was very good and couldn't have done much eh. Those 5 players that are injured you named are very much needed based on this 45 mins. Arsenals movement is very good but you could have had a couple of goals yourself if the ball had bounced the right way I thought. Always the 2nd half mate.
