    Meydan (19th Feb 2010)

The way Godolphin have their string at the moment this year it is going to be hard to get away from any of their runners here this afternoon.Again they are double handed in the first with Secrecy and Desuetude.

Secrecy finished third behind Snaafy two weeks ago going down by just over a length and a half, will of stripped a lot fitter for that and would not bother me in the slightest that the form has not upheld but the drop back to 7f is most definetly going to give him a much better chance in this.

Brian Meehan's Gallagher ran well when in third behind Mutheeb and the latter ran well behind another Godolphin winner yesterday in Sirocco breeze.Should of come on for the run here and should go well again.

Desuetude could still be interesting for Godolphin as got no luck when unshipping Ajtebi early in the race and could be given a place claim if has over come the stall problem.

But i would say Godolphin should get first blood again here with Secrecy who could still be a head of his rivals in this and looks unexposed.

Mike De Kock's King of Rome is one to consider in a very competative heat Has improved with every run at the carnival and after his second behind Lizard's Desire he went on to beat Hot Six over 10f two weeks ago and also had Dr Faustus back in fourth a further half a length when conceding 8lb to the latter,Cadre was back in sixth a further six lengths when also getting 8lb in the weight department. He has to concede another 4lb here but looks a solid bet to hold that form here.

Luca Cumani's Drunken Sailor took the scalp of Monte Alto on his first run here and the latter again ran well to finish second behind Emirates Champion yesterday so good solid form but we have to take in account that he is now diverting back to turf here and a 7lb penalty might just find him out.

One that does interest me is Godolphins Espiritu, would settle for a fast pace here and finished second to Karl Berg over a furlong and a half less than today's trip when going down by a length and a quarter, only up 2lb here and the Noseda cast off could go close here not stepping back up in trip.

Sir Gerry has struggled since his win on the first day of the carnival and it looks like the 8lb rise is taking it's toll.

Montpellier finished second behind Global City over course and distance two weeks ago when giving the Godolphin runner 7lb for a nose defeat and the form can be reversed here with Montepellier getting the 1lb required.

But the one i will have to side with in this is Oasis Star, who was finishing like an express train after getting caught flat footed early in the race and eventually went down by half a length to So Shiny. Now that form has taken a massive boost with the third Frosty Secret won here yesterday easily and the fifth has also improved finishing fourth in the same race as Frosty Secret yesterday. The Indian star has again show that he has what it takes to win a race like this, my concern slightly is that he tends to fall asleep half way through a race but pickes up well inside the final furlong, does not want a battle for the lead early just a nice toe into the race and kept a lot handier this time around.

Godolphin's Firebet has done nothing wrong and the Dubai Destination colt makes his Meydan debut here and first run since beating Midnight Cruiser over 10f at Epsom last year and had the likes of Tranquil Tiger beaten that day.he was runner up in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes to Harbinger when off a 1lb lower mark.

Falcativ was last seen beating Aeroplane At Kempton and with what the latter named has achieved it is not comvincing into what he has beaten with Aeroplane winning just claimers on the AW.

Walzertraum ran an encouraging third to Mr Brock on course debut two weeks ago and that form got a slight boost when Soy Libriano finished second to Lizards Desire,Christophe Soumillion takes over from Olivier Peslier here and could run again in to a place at a nice price.

But you have to favor the Godolphin horse after what he has shown on last years form and if adapting to the surface will be a tough nut to crack.

Jeremy Noseda's Stoic made a pleasing debut here when finishing behind Mutheeb two weeks ago over 7f and the step up to 8f here is surely going to bring him on much better and was doing most of his work in the latter stages.

Consul General was seen finishing third to Gloria De Campeao in the Group 3 Al Maktoum Challenge and looked one pace in the final furlong and could never go the pace of the final winner when also losing second in the final 100yrds to Forgotten Voice.

I just feel Stoic could be see in better light now stepping up in trip this evening and at a price could be an each way bet.
