Blame the EU, not sure Microsoft are so happy about doing it. :)

Mine appeared about a month ago... I already use 4 browsers for various things, maybe I should install them all to make the EU happy

My car has a monopoly on installing Sony... maybe they should be made to install every other make of CD as well :splapme

When it pops up and asks you, DO NOT click on OK. Simply close the program using the Red X. The program cannot be uninstalled, but if you are already using IE8 or any other browser then you can click the OK link and select the appropriate browser install. Once it realises you have already got your choice installed, it will leave you alone!

Pros - many browsers run quicker than IE8
Cons - IE will forever tell you that it is no longer the default browser until you capitulate and let it be so once again!

Quickest is Opera 10.5, has a handy password manager, but no good really for Betfair.

I'd be lost without the URL aliasing, groups and various other features in Avant. The nearest thing I have found to replacing it is Orca

I use Chrome and I like it. It's very fast and easy to use. I couldn't imagine switching to another browser at this stage as it does everything I need quite well. It did have problems with some sites early on but any issues seem to have been ironed out. Having said all that, I'm only comparing it to IE as I've haven't used any others much.

I have used Firefox, IE and Chrome and all have their benefits. I think it is much the same as anything though, Once you get used to one, you find it difficult to adjust to something else.
