Today looks like being a quieter day than the last few days, which is unexpected. The number of system qualifiers is down on the past few days it seems and it looks like I won't be quite so busy as I have been.

    DERBY DAY

Problem is I don't get anywhere near as excited with the Classics these days as in ye olde days. I haven't even looked at the form yet!! I do love what I consider the main meetings Chester Cup, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood etc, but to me the Classic meetings are just overhyped these days, especially as they are basically only for the breeding industries benefit.

I don't watch much horse racing really. Like a lot of casual punters I will watch the biggest televised races of the year and yesterday when I was out at a BBQ I got the barman to put the Oaks on so I could watch that, and I will watch the Derby this afternoon. But I don't know enough about racing to get much enjoyment out of it. I get enjoyment out of betting and I know plenty about that, just not about racing.

First bet of the day is to lay a 9.4 winner.

I love it when that happens.

Unlucky to have caught that one. It was drifting when I tried to get my bet on and it went out too far and too fast for me to catch it.

Bad time for Betdaq to have an unplanned system outage

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Especially since when I checked at a few points this afternoon their liquidity was getting close to Betfair's in places, and not just for the big races either.

I sooooooooooo much wanted the pacemaker to win the Derbu it would have well up the breeding industry .... now they can brag about the winner.... forgetting all the ones that got hammered have just as good breeding :splapme

Managed to get a few quid out of Fortuni backing it as he kicked on ... more of a buzz backing in-running but jeez you gotta concentrate otherwise

Yet another shocker for me, up there in the top ten worst days Ive ever had, Its been a terrible time for all my systems recently but Im confident of getting a nice rebound soon, sods law that the other systems Im only paper betting are doing great- but its all part of betting. If I'm going to make it with gambling the next 3 months are going to be crucial now after the big drop ive had in my banks recently.

Today makes my top ten worst days too funnily enough. My worst day for nearly three months. An absolute massacre, almost across the board. The day didn't start too badly but once it started to go downhill it didn't stop.

I'll post up my results in a new thread shortly
