Absolutely rubbish day. It started badly when a double-backed selection refused to race and went downhill from there. I had two lays - one small one lost (the race, winning bet) and the other one was a much larger lay that romped home. I even talked myself out of backing Germany in the football on the basis that despite the fact they were overpriced I was expecting few goals which in turn increases the chance of a draw. So did I lay England instead? That would have been the sensible thing to do but no, I left the match alone - like most of the England team seemed to do too.

    W2W Systems: 0 from 5, down 5.00pts
    W2W Lays: 1 from 2, down 2.45pts
    Other Backs: 0 from 4, down 3.43pts
    Other Lays: 0 from 0

If Mexico don't put in a good show tonight (and I'm hoping they win, or at least qualify) then several more bets go down the drain too.

    Is June over yet?

Mexico collapsed after that first Tevez goal and that Hernandez consolation effort has ruined my clean sheet bet on Argentina too. Today has gone about as badly as a quiet day can do with all my backs going down and one of two lays going in as well.

I ended the day slightly in profit today, although nowhere near enough to wipe out yesterdays losses, but its a start.

As Mathare has said, it started badly when Battle Group, which qualified on 3 systems for me refused to race. Ended with a winning lay, that's 3 in a row now on the Lay'em which has been in freefall since it peaked for me just over 3 weeks ago. It is still in profit though. Made a small profit on the football despite a points loss.

    W2W backs, 0/6, -6pts
    W2W lays, 0/1, -3.8pts
    Other Racing, 1/5, -0.84pts
    Other sports, 1/3, -0.82pts
