i was looking at these but don't know if they are any good.
The BT Diverse 6210 Twin DECT cordless phone with SMS text messaging and SIM card reader (Not with 3 Network SIM Cards), has a backlit four-line LCD and the call clarity of a corded phone with an easy menu operation handset. Fully GAP compatible, it can be used with other BT Diverse products and is ideal for many applications including domestic, home/office or organisations needing a small phone system.

Over the years piggy I have had all makes of phones but the ones I have been most impressed with are Panasonic ones. Have a look on Amazon and see the reviews for them, they are pretty good. I had a BT phone a few years ago and it wasn't great, ending up chucking it after about a year.

The BT Diverse 6210 is an old model which I wouldn't think BT even supply any more, though I daresay is readily available from other sources.
It's a bit pricey for a phone that's been around for about 4 years.

I have to agree with Scooby with regards to Panasonic phones.
I think one of the newer models is the Panasonic KX-TG8522EB DECT Twin Digital Cordless Phone Set with Answer Machine - Black approx £80-£90 which is quite easy on the eye. It has a built in answer phone which you may not want, but any of the newish Panasonics have got to be worth a look.
