dvd to avi
last year i bought a media player which plays avi's,music, photos, etc on my television.
last week i downloaded which seemed a good software that rips my dvds into a file that i could use on this media player,it took off the copy protection as well.
the only problem was,the picture quality was "pants".i could upgrade to the "platinum"edition at a cost of $30 which advertised "no loss of quality".
does anyone know of any free software that i could use, with a good quality playback.

I use DVDIdlePro for stripping copyright, and DVD2One for copying ... you may be able to get ...erm ... trial version on torrent
