EW Lucky 15s - Can We Make Them Pay?

    Hi guys,

I've been following a blog on another forum where the success rate in getting a half-decent return on Lucky 15 bets is pretty good, so I thought, why not see if we can do it here.

Getting one person to come up with 4 winning L15 selections is extremely rare, so why don't we each pick one NAP selection daily and combine them in groups of 4 in an EW L15 and see what kind of return we can achieve?

The only stipulation is that odds-on selections will NOT be allowed.

The hypothetical bet will be a modest EW Lucky 15 (30 bets at 25p).....max stake £7.50. All returns will be calculated to SP.

So for a bit of fun, if you think you can pick a decent priced potential winning or EW selection each day, then please make yourself known below.......who knows, it may turn out to be worth punting with real money.

    I fancy last year's 2nd, Tarkari, in the 2.20 @ Mar Rasen & he's 33's on 365 & have a few others to go with it, so that &

    2.50 Ostland 9/s

    4.35 Jawaab 16/s

    & NewmR 4.25 Responsive 9/s

    Typical Saturday!

But Tarkari got going all too late & I was hoping for 16 runners but I pretty much knew, always dodgy when 365 offer more, they are usually right & i just greedy..

Ostland - bit disappointing, got a feeling I may have slightly overestimated but times suggest ground was a lot easier than advertised & he might need it fast

Jawaab - wasn't doing too bad until rider lost his irons & PU, there'll be another day for him

Responsive, I liked the jockey booking as much as anything but poor day by his standards & his No.1 trainer, Best Terms beat but overall, the horse was outclassed completely, another Guineas contender for the man with a hat-full, M Al Zarooni, the winner, Pimpernel, came out better on the figs than Group One winning, Lightening Pearl

I did better yesterday & I'll probably do better tomorrow but whether I'll have time to post

    Any day but a Saturday:

2:20 - Sergeant JP Amer Memorial Novices' Hurdle (John Wade Hurdle Series Qualifier)
    Full result
    2m1f, Class 4, £2,014.38
    1 Jawaab 7/2
    2 Strong Knight 25/1
    3 Just Dave 3/1
    12 ran Distances: 3l, 13l, 7l
    TIME 3m 56.00s (slow by 6.00s)
    Jockey: James Reveley
    Trainer: Richard Guest

Lands a bit of a gamble from 11/2 Tuesday with the eye-shields back on but improved on the figure I had for him by a couple of pounds -

Today's EW bet for me was Role On in the h'cap chase later on the same card - 4.20 He was prominent when unseated his rider, I took 20/s but was 12/s & thought he may need the race, he'll strip fitter next time.

Let's see if we can't pull-off another PR disaster - it's not Saturday after all

    2.35 Good Sutton Veny 14/s
4.15 Curr Rising Wind (Ger) 33/s
    4.35 Lim Sarteano (Fr) 20/s
5.20 Curr AOIFE ALAINN 12-20/s [Got an interesting theory about this one, I'll save u the details but I reckon that fav Sapphire is beat.

'Er, what are the odds on that eh?

You pick two sets of 4 horses a week or so apart & they both manage 2 5th's a 9th & PU - fascinating!

    Bang goes that theory!

Sarteano, his chance went at the start when nearly brought down & lost 10l's, l8r PU

Gutted with Rising Wind, my main bet of the day, 16th-5th within the final furlong to finish a place out of the money.

Sutton Veny the biggest disappointment tho. Might have to give this lark up

Yeh, I think that was the case - that the ground was too soft, won today as clear top rated on better ground @Huntingdon - another thing about my tips, quite often better next time

Good luck with those - I was thinking of lowering my odds range a bit but the only EW thing I fancy today, 4.55 Punch Kind Oscar, she 25/s with 365

That's the second time in a fortnight I've had 1 winner (Cristaliyev 20/1, 2 5th's & a 4th the others) & nothing else! The other time I was down town & had a 33/1 on a yankee & only learnt afterward if I had done a Lucky15 I would have had a treble the odds return on the single, so as always learning the hard way that it can pay to take advantage of any offers - not bad though from only two goes....

Thanks & another 20/1 winner (Columella, likes it soft?) & nothing else, Old Magic, a complete disappointment, as was Princess Patsky, who was well backed into 4/s from 12/s (no like ground my guess) & Parsnip Pete, got going all too late for a 25/1 4th but at least he completed.

Poor show yesterday with none placed though most were first 1/2 of their fields, not helped by a ground change no doubt either? Bit risky today too:

    3.35 Asc - Arnold Lane

4.45 Asc - Miss Work Of Art

    2.40 Redc - Collateral Damage

4.15 Redc - Johny Lesters Hair

2 complete disappointments above - see if we can't do better today all at Wetherby:

5.30 - Soft Spoken Guy (been backed into 10/s from 20/s

    3.55 - Lease Lend

    3.25 - Zaplamation

    5.00 - Chac Du Cadran

Bit unlucky as again, just one place away from a place treble yesterday too...

Not sure what to do today, got three solid choices & not sure about rest

2.00 Chelt - Minella For Value (Jockey for value more like but)

2.30 Chelt - Finger Onthe Pulse

    3.40 Chelt - Swincombe Rock

    4.45 Ascot - Axiom

If the first one not placed could have another go with rest & this hopeful?

    4.50 Cork - Mont Blanc

Of course, the only 'hopeful' goes n wins @ 20/s n only one winner again but Finger Onthe Pulse placed to make 2nd attempt a place double ??

Got a feeling I should be doing My Brother Sylvest 2.45 Kemp or Northern Alliance 3.45 Cork instead of Dancing Tornado but we'll let it go....

3.20 Kemp - Zarzal (365 going best price, usually a bad sign?)

    4.30 Naas - Dancing Tornado 10/s

    4.55 Kemp - Tempting Paradise 25/s

    5.00 Naas - Jack Daddy 14/s

Think it will be a first & last place double today?
