Good question Guv'nr.....
Argentina seem to have some nice soft warm up games in their group matches, so I expect them to come on strong in the knock-out stages..... But the bookies as usual are not playing fair with a measly best 4/1 outright win offer

Germany, Italy will be thereabouts but I expect Brazil to win on home soil. France could surprise, but I doubt a European team can rewrite history and win in South America, although Germany came close in 1986. Chile are better than decent and Uruguay should get out of their group.
As for England, if they get out of the group, they have done well, our defence is the poorest we've had for years-Johnson at right back is a joke. 20 years ago he would have been nowhere near an England squad and I am not sure Jagielka would have either. Distinct lack of quality.
Johnson is crap for Liverpool and England.
Things will become clearer after 2 games have been played in each group.
It would be good to see Sturridge and Suarez to each get a hat trick in the same game

Great goal by Van Persie. Either Spain were totally crap, or the Netherlands have a good chance of taking the trophy. Although, European teams struggle in S America.
Australia collapsed as expected, while Mexico scraped through, no thanks to the ref.

Last nights Spain v Holland match was one of the best world cup games I have ever seen. Not just because the Spanish got it up them ("They don't like it up 'em Capt'n Mainwaring"!) but the way Holland answered their pre-match critics, even their own press had written them off saying they would not get out the group. Arjen Robben is a god and Van Persie finally shown how good he is.....
I hope England can do the same to their critics tonight, or is that just one miracle too far

I see Blatter has already had the party to celebrate Brazil winning the 2014 World Cup.... not that FIFA are corrupt

Well England won't be winning the World Cup 2014. Lost to Italy. The defence was a shambles, Italy could have had a couple more but for hitting the post.
Glen Johnson needs to realise that you pass the ball to your own team, not the opposition.
When does betting on the next England manager start?
The only saving grace is that Uruguay lost. They looked more inept that England.

Made up Brazil didn't win. A bit of karma from the first match. The Mexico goalie was amazing though.
Looking forward to Spain and the Netherlands games today. Why do the stupid pundits still keep calling them Holland? That is like saying Merseyside, instead of England.

England out? More than likely. Worst WC results in 50 years.
Pundits are coming out in support of Woy, whose tactics leave a lot to be desired. Especially as I lost count of how many times he changed them during each game.
If you have a weak defence, then you have no choice but to set up an attacking side, as you need goals, goals, goals.

Iran will not win the WC, but they caused a surprise in match 1, and nearly done it again against Argentina. I think the manager had been watching a few Chelsea games.

....and what a game with Ghana v Germany
Germany will go through, but they do not look like being capable of taking the trophy. GOOD!
