PADDYWACK is due a win. He was doing all his best work inside the final furlong over the minimum trip. After making a slow start PWACK was only beaten 2 lengths at Leicester He is one to have in your notebook for future all age sprint handicaps.

I wonder if they're gearing him up for a good AW season - he's done pretty well in previous winters, made a few quid on him on the AW.

That could be the plan Campbell But he is VERY well handicapped on turf so it seems daft to me that they will be missing out on some decent prize money just to save the horse for the all weather. If he were to win twice on the turf it would be about the equivelent of winning 3 or 4 races on the all weather for regional type prize money. Just for bit of fun what odds would you lay me PADDYWHACK winning a race on the turf before it ends?

Your record is pretty good mate, so I'd shy away from that bet! He's a good wee horse, and I think he's best on the kind of ground we'll see at this time of year, so we'll probably see him win at some point. I'll be keeping a close eye out for him!

hello im new here for posting, but ive been viewing for the past month, but i thought i had to post a message for paddywack.

my dad has been backing this horse now for ages and it never does any ::swear good, as i recall i think its won once and came 3rd once the rest nowhere, i would not back this horse if it was the only horse in the race.

Welcome to the forum Sprout. First thing I would say is that blindly backing most horses is not a great idea - using a bit of savvy and trying to suss out wjen it's more likely to win is. Paddywack has run 83 times since Jan 2001, 11 wins at 7/2, 7/1, 6/1, 4/1, 11/2, 11/2fav, 7/1, 15/8, 4/1, 13/2, 11/2. If you had stuck a tenner on each time you would have lost £153.75 .... it's a decent wee horse, just don't back it every time... :)

A further hint on Paddywack - he has run at 5, 6 and 7 furlongs....but never won at 6 or 7 - all 11 wins from 54 races at 5f. He goes well on most ground, but for some strange reason hasn't won on good from 11 starts...

6 furlongs tomorrow - he's never won at anything above 5f - always a first time I guess, but I'd be more inclined to lay him tomorrow.

After going through the Online Racing post form I will be backing PADDYWACK each way tomorrow :fizz There is no doubt he is well handicapped but there are other well handicapped horses in the race as well. Cambell highlighted a major negative about PADDYWACK and that is that he is better over 5 furlongs than 6. But the MAJOR concern I have is the draw nobody seems to know where the advantage is not even me :geek PADDYWACK has a chance tomorrow and should be backed accordingly (each way)

I don't think there's a major draw advantage - my software divides it into 4 quarters, and gives low-mid as 31% winners for 6f and soft ground over the last 2 and a bit years. Paddywack is drawn high (17 I think) but that shouldn't make much difference. :)

Great horse, runs so many times it's handicap mark fluctuates a lot, and usually hits form mid Summer, or is it the rabbits? :doh

Paddwacks course record at Beverley now reads 5 wins, 3 places and 2 unplaced so clearly loves the track.

Because I forgot about the thread until I saw you post this after the race!

And if I shared all the horses that I backed, you'd all be very very poor if you followed them :D

Runs today in the 5.10 at Bev. I have him on my lay list though, so I wont be cheering him on I'm afraid.
