Mine is 1.9MB/s which is pretty damn close to the 2MB I pay for :)

Thanks for this Keith.
I tried mine and that prompted me to go onto the NTL website.
I thought that the much publicised increase in broadband speed would be automatic. Apparently not .
I have just upgraded to a higher speed for free - Now over four times faster.

For any NTL customers that currently have 750k or 1mb connections, you CAN upgrade for free if you go through the 300k link.....Had me foxed, but have now upgraded from 750k to 2mb at NO extra cost in a matter of minutes. It's all done online.

Seems you have to phone them to upgrade a set top box connection.... will try that later in the week.

- 4 K/s (-32 Kbps)

Is that good?

It gives different reading every time cos speed changes all the time. And different speed testers usually show slower connections than this one

Any link forthcoming??

Simply go to http://www.home.ntl.com/page/broadbandexisting

Click on the 300k 'click here' link, and this will take you to the options.

For the upgrade to be done online, you need to be using a cable modem, rather than a set top box.

If you currently have 300k click on the 1mb option, 750k, click on the 2mb option, if you have 1mb, click on the 3mb option.

You will need your NTL username and password.

You just take an average, as speed depend on traffic on the web same as the road network. Sometimes you get jams, accidents, etc.
