Blimey that has got me thinking now Ada and I have made a mistake. It is Nigel Lawson isnt it? I always think of Howe resigning as breaking Thatcher but he was Deputy Leader when he resigned not Chancellor. It must be "her brilliant" Chancellor Nigel Lawson that Sir Alan Walters undermined.

15 is in the ear but it isn't a bone. That's certainly right - it's a muscle. A little surprising if it's the smallest muscle in the body (aren't one or two of the eye muscles smaller? ... well, maybe not ...).

Its strange I used to love both Coronation street and Eastenders when they were only on Twice a week. Now they are on all the time and I just cant watch them anymore. Its the same with Live Football - the more you get of something on the television the less you appreciate it.

TheGoodGuy
23rd July 2005, 00:44
Glos

Volvo correct.

Just Corrie characters,
Another name for a Pyot &
Musical partnerships to go I think..

Well ... Learner was half of Learner and Loewe, I think ... not that I know who Loewe was (Learner's songwriting partner, maybe?). And I don't know what a pyot is, and the red telephone might, as a complete guess, have been an early logo of the Samaritans (but only if nobody's tried that yet), on which note it's good night from me.

Ruby
23rd July 2005, 01:00
ooh ....was the telephone direct line insurance??

GlosRFC

Okay, I've had a peek at my dictionary for pyot and it's not there. However it does have an entry for pyet/piet which is a bird....so maybe pyot is an alternative spelling?

I won't say what bird as I looked but.....Jenny Hanley ring any bells? :)

TheGoodGuy
23rd July 2005, 01:27
Glos,
That well may be the case.
I have to admit that I have just cut & pasted that question without doing any prior research on the validity of the answer, but I do have a name of a bird as the answer.

Ada.

tophatter
23rd July 2005, 01:28

TheGoodGuy
