I did hear recently though that Bell didn't invent the phone. He nicked the idea/design from someone else but got the patent in first

Must have been a man that invented Broadband then,

i once had a bookies account which had odd's like that, can't remember the name. but they had stupid odd's. like 101/50 100/49 200/103 on uk football market's. i had never seen thoes odd's before. and put it down to the fact they wanted to confuse people into taking crap odd's.

it was a U.K. bookies aswell - i only signed up because they has a free £20 bet.

The 'weird' odds are simply based on the decimal system and make far more sense then the current system which was designed around the old £sd system.

29/10 is simple - put on a tenner and get £29 profit if it wins!

200/103 means that if you want to win £200 then you put £103 on it - easy again!

Look at 'our' odds:

11/10 (based on 11s for a 10 bob note)
x/8 (based on 8 half-crowns = £1)

When viewed in this light, who has the simpler system? :)
