Just before the great man died, he showed he had recovered the brilliant powers of his comesy genius after some turbulent personal years by doing a channel four show with Clive Anderson with four characters. A loony Judge called Sir. Jame Beauchamp (my personal favourite) a football manager called Alan Latchey, a man who claims to be abducted by aliens called Norman House and An ageing pop star called Eric Daley,

He had a massive influence on most comedians, well the ones who are any good anyway. He was doing stuff like this 20 years before the likes of Steve Coogan was around.

For anyone who is a Peter Cook fan and those who are not (yet) go to this website and you can find so many downloads and information on this genius.

Edit: Link removed by tophatter. I did not reaslise the website contained some of the derek & clive stuff which was pretty foul mouthed although very funny and would not want people downloading it at work and getting in trouble! :yikes:

Highly recommended are the EL wisty downloads and the "Sven" interviews when Peter would ring up LBC on an early hours phone in and pretend to be a heartbroken Norwegian obsessed with fish whose wife has left him. He
