What are everyones feelings on this game?

Man U beat Celtic at home, but to be honest, I dont thing they were as comfortable as they thought they would be.

Celtic always have a great home record, and can put it up to utd. Would I be letting my heart rule my head by laying UTD at 2.22?

Come on the hoops!

I think Utd are a bit short at that price. Their away form in Europe has been poor over the last couple of years though I don't feel that is too important given that this match will be like a derby and form kind of goes out the window. As you say, Celtic are very strong at home plus the fact that United will have one eye on the match against Chelsea on Sunday (Fergie has already admitted this) makes it a value lay in my opinion. I think it will be a draw. The bet that i'm interested in though is over 2.5 goals @ 2.26.

How does 2-2 sound?

I think your heart is ruling here Wayne, but in this case I think you'll be right.... best of luck to them, would be nice for a good 2 or 3 goal win! :)

If it shuts Alan 'Celtic' Brazil up, I'd go for 4-1 Man Utd !

I will not be having a bet on the game but here is something to consider before you do. Ask yourself how many Man utd players in the current team would get into the current Celtic team? I would say just about all of them. Then consider how many Celtic players would get into the current Man utd team? I would say maybe 2 or 3 at the most. This said remember nobody gave Celtic or Rangers any chance against Leeds in European matches in the 70's & 90's but look what happened the underdogs came through. This game is a potential minefield for punters but if you're brave enough to lay Man utd wb then I wish you all the best.

I think it all depends on what team Ferguson puts out. If he leaves two or three of his best out with an eye on Chelsea then it could be a close one. With their full side out I think Man Utd will win.

Fergie has said he has 5 days after this game before the Chelsea game so why not put out a very strong side

I'd lay Utd and back 'em later when it's still a draw or worse (or better) depending which side of the divide you're on.:)

Without having to go back to Leeds 1970, Liverpool and Blackburn have all been knocked out by Celtic in European competitions in living memory.
Will Gigg's be up to it tonight after his shenanigans in the first game?, he and some other worthies that are prone to crack will have the heat turned up on them tonight like they have never felt before, namely Rooney who is a regular at Celtic park as fan so he will know the score.
One thing it won't be is a 0.0 draw, Celtic's home CL record is P11 W8 D2 L1, its their away form that has let them down. They were however unlucky not to get a point at Old Trafford.
The Strachan Ferguson thing is also an issue, as is Ferguson being an ex bloo nose!. The Scotland England issue. I was reading an article earlier from a 'neutral' reporter that mentioned that this game is arguebly between the 2 biggest teams in the world, but definite in the UK.
This is one I am not putting any serious money on although I have put several small wagers on to keep the interest. There a much better bets out there tonight that can be doubled and trebled with less chance of being slipped up on this banana skin.

My gut feeling is that Man Utd will be happy with a draw and play accordingly. Celtic will throw everything at them but just not have enough quality to beat them.

Just a pity another great game was ruined by a bad ref decision. The goal came from a foul that never was, the video replay shows the Celtic guy falling over his own feet :ermmm

Remember the old saying....."it all evens out over a season" ......so if Man U lose next game, how will that happen then? :doh

Still good to see Man U beat though :laugh

And you could see from the way Saha stood up to take that penalty exactly where he was going to put it...and that he was going to miss it!!

Should have scored twice, but he was showing off his coolness.....plonker :ermmm

a LOT of money was made on Celtic last night, and with the generous odds offered. I can only presume a LOT MORE was LOST on Man Utd.

Even more than I have seen staked on an Old firm game.

That penalty miss made me lose out on £80. My thinking was that nakamura is the free kick specialist and Celtics only way of scoring would probably be from a set piece and if Celtic scored first then Man U were more than likely to get back into the game. Maybe the goal came slightly to late in the game for them to get back into it. Nevermind it was great to see the Celts win a big up for Scottish Football.

It will increase the european coefficient for Scotland and could see Killie back in Europe soon. Maybe even the Champions league qualifiers. One can dream cant he.

As a Rangers man, with no liking for Man U into the bargain, this was a difficult one to watch ... so in order to keep an interest and to minimise my horror if Celtic won, I had a few pounds on them at 3/1 ... so in the end I could 'celebrate' their win financially if not spiritually ...

Probably a non-pc post, but ....
