Pentrich is only about 30 mins from our house.
There's a famous pub there called The Dog Inn. Some of the locals started an uprising, which failed, some of them were hung, some were sent to Australia.

Interesting bit of local history there Sparky... I liked this bit - clemency indeed! :yikes:

when the ringleaders were sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered. They were the last men in England to receive that sentence; in the end they received ‘clemency’ and were only hung and beheaded.
