The eSafe's 8 character combination has now been set.

The combination is made up of SEVEN digits - 1 through to 0, and ONE letter - A, B, C, D or E.
DIGITS in the combination can occur more than once in the combination sequence.
The LETTER can appear in ANY position in the combination sequence.

I will explain the various options open to players as the game progresses.

A couple of important things to note:

If one (or more) of your numbers matches the Main Ball(s) drawn in the LOTTO you will be invited to PM/Email me combination guess(es).
Alternatively each player may play 1 JOKER & 1 SHIELDED combination guess. These can only be played ONCE EACH during the game.

JOKER
When you want to play jour Joker, PM/Email me with your combination guess & label it 'Joker'. It will be displayed in the game table as usual & I will provide you with the CORRECT status information for your guess.
HOWEVER........if another player 'steals' your 'Joker' combination, he/she will be provided with INCORRECT status information for the combination.
The same applies if any 'Joker' combinations are 'revealed' during the game - INCORRECT status details will be provided.
Only the person who posts a 'Joker' combination will know its correct status.

SHIELDED GUESS
You PM/Email me with basically anything you want.
You can send a genuine combination guess, to which I will provide you with correct status information....OR..... a comment, friendly or otherwise, a smiley or anything you want basically.
All that will be displayed in the game table for shielded guesses is "********"
A shielded guess can still be stolen by another player, but they will have to try & work out whether they will be stealing a genuine combination guess from you to help them in the game, or, say, a sarcastic comment that you have posted to throw them off the scent.
Shielded guesses will only be revealed to players who steal them & not in the game table.

THUNDERBALL
The Thunderball serves 2 purposes:
1) When the combination is cracked, the corresponding Thunderball drawn will be the number of the 'box' you take into the Deal/No Deal part of the game to decide your prize.
2) Each drawn TBall after Draw 5 will determine which combination I will reveal. More details on this as the game progresses.

You should all now have received a PM informing you of the status of your combination guesses for DRAW 1. If you haven't......please let me know.

One thing to note:

**If you have a combination stolen from a current draw, the next combination guess you are invited to post is SAFE (ie cannot be stolen or revealed until the NEXT draw has taken place at least).
If you are invited to post more than 1 combination guess in a particular draw & the above scenario applies, ONLY your FIRST combination guess is SAFE........any others are available to steal or reveal.
However, if you have a combination stolen from a previous draw, ie, you already know that combination's status, then the next combination guess you are invited to post is NOT safe & CAN be stolen.**

Rule:
**If you have a combination stolen from a current draw, (AS DID MATHARE IN DRAW 1) the next combination guess you are invited to post is SAFE (ie cannot be stolen or revealed until the NEXT draw has taken place at least).
If you are invited to post more than 1 combination guess in a particular draw & the above scenario applies, ONLY your FIRST combination guess is SAFE........any others are available to steal or reveal.**

To summarise:

The FIRST combination Mathare posts out of the 3 he is entitled to in DRAW 3 is SAFE & cannot be stolen or revealed.
However Mat's 2nd & 3rd combination guesses are NOT safe & CAN be stolen or revealed as can the other players' combinations, if the bonus ball holder so chooses.

Please note:
I have brought forward the combination guess deadline to 20:00 Tuesday, as I will not be around to update the game table after midnight.

So, if Fadetoblack fails to EMail his guess by 20:00, his DRAW 3 guess will be forfeited, & the remaining 5 guesses made by the other players will be displayed in the game table shortly after the deadline has expired.

This will give the bonus ball holder (Bigcumba) a little longer to examine the DRAW 3 & previous draw combinations, and post his choice of which one he wants to steal or reveal.

OK guys & gals, listen up....

Big C is busy & will not be able to choose his steal or reveal combination before the next draw.

He has asked me to 'randomly' pick a combination for him to steal from the DRAW 3 guesses.

The only 'random' way I can think to do this is as follows:

I have labelled the 4 combinations that are available for stealing "1 - 4"....

1. Fadetoblack
2. Iron Chris
3. Mathare (guess 2)
4. Mathare (guess 3)

I have put the numbers 1, 2, 3 & 4 in a RNG & the first number the RNG 'drew' was NUMBER 4.

Therefore......Bigcumba is going to steal Mathare's 1234E567 combination.

OK,

Unfortunately Markwales has failed to meet the deadline, so has forfeited his 1 guess for DRAW 5, AND his chance to steal or reveal a combination of his choice (as owner of the DRAW 5 Bonus Ball).
Therefore all DRAW 5 guesses are SAFE.

This means only 4 out of the possible 6 DRAW 5 combinations are 'displayed' in the game table, (PLUS Scaaty's SHIELDED guess).

As the game has now been running for 4+ weeks and presumably your chances of cracking the correct combination should be getting somewhat closer......

To confirm...

Deadlines for posting combination guesses are 22:00 Mondays (for Saturday draws) & 22:00 Fridays (for Wednesday draws).
Bonus Ball holders will be invited to post their steal or reveal requests after these deadlines but by 18:00 on the day of the next draw.

A correct combination will immediately stop the game & cannot be stolen or revealed.
(Duplicate correct combinations received will be dealt with on a first come first served basis, ie, first correct combination received will be deemed the winner.)
The winner will then be allocated the corresponding Thunderball 'box' for the winning draw, in order to play the Deal/No Deal part of the game to determine your final prize.

Unfortunately Fadetoblack has AGAIN failed to meet the deadline, so has forfeited his guess for DRAW 10, and due to having now amassed 3 FORFEITS throughout the game, has been disqualified.

Totally fair criticism Chris....

I was hoping by getting more than 1 person involved in each draw would have elevated the 'interest' factor in the early stages, but I take your point that it is VERY slow at first but DOES get more 'competitive' as people get closer to cracking the combination.
I'll have to dream up a game where the competitive & interest factors are high from the start....watch this space.

The only reason I stipulated 'short' deadlines was, I'm sorry to say, pure selfishness on my part.
It was quite a high maintenance game to run, & basically I just wanted eveyone's guesses in as quickly as possible so I could update the tables etc., and then have a day (or two) until the next draw where I didn't need to monitor or update anything. I apologise for that.

Congratulations Mat and best of luck in the next bit ! How on earth do you use a spreadsheet with this ? :doh Cheers Scaaty (and everyone else) for the best wishes.

As I'm sure you know I can use a spreadsheet for just about anything. In this case I entered each combination into a spreadsheet as I guessed it and as they got revealed, 1 character per cell, 1 row per combination. I then entered the status for each combination plus the owner so I could then determine whether the status was guaranteed or not (I knew the status of my guesses and where multiple guesses by the same player had been revealed only one at most could be incorrect).

This spreadsheet didn't help me much until this draw when Chris' 7/3 came out as I had a 6/2 with most of the same digits in. Using a bit of logic I worked out which of the numbers Chris had got wrong and what it then had to be using previous combinations. I found it easier to order the digits into ascending numerical order then tag the letter on the end as the order at this stage didn't matter; all I was after was the actual make up of the combination. I then compared my guess with the combinations I knew the status of and got the right number of matching figures for all but one of Scaaty's so I guessed that was a joker combination.

So now I had the figures in the combo I just needed the order so I put the guesses I knew about back in order and using logic worked out what couldn't go where and what had to go where in terms of position in the combination. I then had all sorts of formatting applied to combinations and individual digits to work it out.

Then I had a great idea - drag the missus in, she's much better at things like this than I am :laugh A few minutes later we had it. :happyboun

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I've never put so much thought and effort into something that could turn out to be worth nothing :laugh
