Here goes nothing... ;)

No horse over 5.0 will be layed.

The payout (including backers stake) on each lay will be 5% of the bank.

Betfairs 5% commission will be taken from net profits.

All prices will be taken from Betfair when I post.

And so it begins....

2:40 ... Ling ... Broughtons Revival ...4.9 @ £10.20
4:10 ... Ling ... Padlocked ... 3.7 @ £13.51
4:20 ... Bev ... Guiseppe Verdi ... 3.6 @ £13.88

I hope I don't end up on the wall of shame!

I think we've found a new backing system :D

Actually, I hope it goes well for you. There's always room for a good Layer.

Lol, fair comment given the results.

If you wanted to make a backing system out of my last selection then it would be

"if a favourite has won on an all weather track and is racing on turf for the first time then back it."

I thought going from all weather to turf for the first time would be a bad thing, apparently not. Still... lesson learned for next time. :)

Hmm, my last post in this thread hasn't been approved yet, if I did something wrong can the admin let me know please? Thanks :)

These are my selections for tomorrow, I'll add the price I get 30m before the off. If I can't get less than 5.0 on ink spot I might have to change that rule because I'm confident that horse is not going win. I could be taking a big chance on Baffled but I think the odds are way too short on it.

2:10 ... Ling ... Baffled
2:20 ... Ayr ... Ink Spot

Going from the AW to turf these days is a big bonus, as most trainers train on the same AW track at home.

As a newbie, the software picks up on certain keywords that spammers use. It's just a protection for the folk on here. Most are apporved, but folk on here no longer see all the spam we get.

Ahh, now I see why my selections weren't too clever!

Thank you for the info, this is one of the reasons I joined this forum.

What about going from turf to AW? Is that still a disadvantage or do the training methods mean the horse is usually happy on both surfaces by the time it starts racing?

Ok, lets see if I can improve on yesterdays atrocity!

2:10 ... Ling ... Baffled 2.3 @ £20.15 :(
2:20 ... Ayr ... Ink Spot 7.6 @ £6.10 :)

Baffled is a bit of a risk but I still think there's too much confidence placed in this untested nag. Ink Spot is a total no-hoper which is why I've broken my <5.0 rule.

Very, very close on Baffled, took a photo finish to decide it.

Ink Spot came 2nd? I don't get that. Did I make a mistake when analysing the form? Did anyone else look at this horse and think it had a hope in hell of getting placed?

An improvement on yesterday, but still an overall loss. :(
