Saw them on channel 4 at the weekend Sam.....got moved up a stage as Amy was taking some time out! :spinning Have to say they sounded pretty good, Foo Fighters were superb as usual and Snow Patrol, just watched a bit of The Killers today...it was absolutley sheeting it down when they were on!

There have been alot of bad reports about the Killers, snow patrol have had rave reviews though.
I missed it this year ( intentionally ) it is one of the worst regarding camp sites and mud.

A good friend of my mine went to Staffordshire one yesterday and said that she wasnt too impressed by Snow Patrol although I said they sounded good on tv....from Chelmsford. She also went to see The Kooks instead of Foo Fighters and regretted it! My brother-in-law went to Chelmsford so will find out in next few days what he thought of it. He did say however that the car park was miles away from the camp!!

Yeah last year it was a mile and half from the car park to the campsite at Stafford, excellent when you are up to your knees in mud, and have been in a traffic jam for 10 hours , meaning you are pitching your tent at midnight in mud, rain, and total darkness.

Whilst a big Killers fan. The vocals sounded a bit flat on the TV. I know it's not always the best way to judge via TV transmission, but the the music sounded ok just the vocals a bit flat.

I think live music at big venues and festivals sounds dreadful when you're used to studio-produced sound. But then I'm not a big fan of live music anyway

V is dreadful for atmosphere - i.e there is none.
Yes the beer tents are bouncing, those that go there to experience high levels of alcohol and other substances.
The illegal ones they sneak in but all the alternate highs are ready available at the stalls in there from simple laughing gas to poppers, speed, ecstasy etc.
If you go to a concet no matter how big and the atmosphere is fantastic you don't notice the sound is a bit off, if there is no atmosphere you notice the sound.
