Ada - are the random bingo numbers truly random or fixed such that numbers 1-45 will be called before any numbers are repeated? Or can't you say?

vegyjones
14th October 2007, 19:30
Am I out of the game when my money runs out? :(

TheGoodGuy
14th October 2007, 19:51
Mat,
The bingo numbers are being generated from a Random Number Generator web site (random.org), so are genuinely random.

When an already called number is generated again, I re-run the program until a new number comes up.

You may have noticed that 11, 22, 33 & 44 do not appear on anyone's 'tickets'.
I only did this to make 49 numbers fit nicely into 3 x 15 number grids, & because there are only 9 digits in the number range 1 - 9; & 10 in the ranges 10 - 19, 20 - 29 etc.

Vegy,
Yes, when you have used up your points, you are out of the game.
HOWEVER......as several of you nominated me to receive extra Rep from the boss, as a thank-you I am shortly going to credit each player's Bank with an extra 5pts.

Ada. :)

mathare

When an already called number is generated again, I re-run the program until a new number comes up.OK. Suppose we go 45 races without anyone filling their card (which could happen although is perhaps unlikely) then what? Do you just go with whatever number is generated?

Oh, hang on. I'd being a bit daft here as the numbers are effectively stored up in order aren't they? All you really need to do is order the 45 numbers randomly and people tick them off as they get them because everyone is working on the same numbers in the same order. So once all 45 numbers have been drawn there is no need to generate further numbers at all is there. :splapme

TheGoodGuy
14th October 2007, 20:21
That's right Mat,

Effectively someone should get a full house before all 45 numbers are drawn as you only have to fill 1 of your 3 tickets to win.

It just means that the person with the full house may have to get around 35+ winners (it could of course be less or more) as you only get a number crossed off each time you get a pay out on a race.
It all depends on how the numbers come out.

The first race you win on you get number 5 crossed off, the second race you win on you get number 43 crossed off, the third 36, the fourth 26 & so on.

If you are unable to post selections yourself, and want me to post on your behalf for short periods, ..........no problem........just let me know.

Can we have a stewards enquiry into Scaaty's staking please?

Saturday's and Friday's bets (at least, I didn't check past that) are too high given her current bank situation

Scaaty - sorry, but I think I may be doing you a favour and getting you a few points back

TheGoodGuy
27th October 2007, 13:46
Well spotted Mat.....

I forgot to implement this rule..... :splapme

If a player's bank balance falls to 7 points or less their stakes will be restricted to 1pt WIN & PLACE & 1pt EW, until their bank hopefully recovers to above the 7 point threshold.

Scaaty.....After Thursday's race your bank fell to 6 points, thereby restricting future stakes as per the rule above.
Your stake for Friday has been amended to 1pt EW (from 2pts EW) & your bank balance corrected accordingly.

Your stake for today (Saturday) is also amended to 1pt WIN (from 2pts WIN).

This rule also currently applies to Sparkyminer, but no bank/stake amendments have been necessary.

Ada.

FAO Bigmazey.....

Unfortunately, you're dangerously close to leaving the game if you don't pick a winner next time....so regard your bank balance & stake/bet as 1pt, not the 0.17pts you actually have left.
Your returns (hopefully loads) will be based on a 1pt stake/bet.

Good luck :thumbs

Just to make sure everyone is aware.....

Spot prizes will be awarded as the bingo game progresses to the first person(s).........
Crossing off all 4 corners
Crossing off a middle line.

By 'spot prizes' I mean you will be offered double odds for crossing off 4 corners & 2 selections for the price of 1 bet for crossing off a middle line in a future race of your choice.

FAO Vegyjones & Piggy.....

Vegy, you're dangerously close to leaving the game (again) if you don't pick a winner next time....so regard your bank balance & stake/bet as 1pt, not the 0.89pts you actually have left.
Your returns (hopefully loads) will be based on a 1pt stake/bet.

Piggy, likewise, you're in a precarious position.....
If you choose an EW bet next time, your returns will be based on a 1pt EW stake, ie rounding up your actual 1.38pts to 2pts for the purpose of this type of bet.
Otherwise, you are restricted to a 1pt WIN or PLACE.

Good luck to you both :thumbs

OK guys & gals....listen up.

RULE CHANGE

If nobody has completed a full house on one of their bingo cards after the selected race on FRIDAY 14th DECEMBER, the game will end & the following rules will apply to determine who goes on to play the Deal/No Deal game to win somewhere between £0 & £100........

i) the player with the highest points total **
ii) the player with the most wins (most bingo numbers crossed off all 3 cards)**
AND.....as it's coming up to Christmas.....
ANY other player who has a HIGHER points total than player (ii) above.....

.....will each be given 10pts to stake however they wish on races on SATURDAY 15th DECEMBER.
You must stake ALL of the 10pts by (for example):
1 x 10pt WIN or PLACE bet on any horse in any race.
5 x 1pt WIN & 5 x 1pt PLACE bets on any 10 horses in any 10 races
5 x 1pt EW bets on any 5 horses in any 5 races
etc
etc.....get the idea?

ie.. ANY combination of bets you choose totalling 10pts. (Only 1 horse per race may be selected.....no dutching allowed).

The person who ends up with the HIGHEST points total after racing will go on to play the Deal/No Deal game to hopefully pocket some Christmas cash (or Amazon vouchers).

Good Luck :thumbs

** The player with the highest points total MAY end up being the same person with the most bingo numbers crossed off. If this is the case then this player alone will play the Deal/No Deal game & the knockout phase will not be necessary.

Well done to Mathare.......

You've crossed off a middle line.

Your 'prize'....

In any one selected race between now & Friday, you can pick 2 horses in that race.
Your bet/stake for your first selection will be treated as normal.
Your FREE second horse's bet/stake can be ANY bet to the SAME stake as your first selection.

ie: First choice horse: 4pts place.
Second choice horse bet/stake can be 2pts EW, 4pts WIN or 4pts PLACE.
The second choice stake is FREE (ie is not deducted from your points total if it loses......however any winnings will of course be added to your total.)

Just 3 races to go.........

At end of play Tuesday....

i) the player with the highest points total - MATHARE
ii) the player with the most wins (most bingo numbers crossed off all 3 cards) - IRON CHRIS
iii)ANY other player who has a HIGHER points total than player (ii) above - NO-ONE

PLEASE NOTE (Scaaty)
All bet restrictions (7pts & below) are now lifted, in order to give players the best chance of qualifying for Saturday's knockout stage.

With just 1 race to go........

Mathare currently qualifies for Saturday's knockout stage with the highest points total.
As does Iron Chris with the most overall wins (most bingo numbers crossed off).

So......Bigcumba, Scaaty & Sparkyminer......in order to make Saturday's knockout, your final stake/bet needs to net a return sufficient to exceed either Mat's 40+ points total, or possibly more easily, Chris's more modest current 9.95 points total.
Bear in mind that Mat & Chris's current points total will either increase or decrease depending on their bets.

(Mat....your prize freebie bet is still valid).

Good Luck to you all.

STATE OF PLAY AT END OF GAME

Unfortunately we lost Scaaty in the final race of the game, valiantly risking all her remaining points to earn a place in the knockout stage, only to see her selection just missing a PLACE position.

Hard luck also to Bigcumba who similarly risked nearly all his points to see his selection unseat it's rider.

Now, Sparky, what can I say......you were the first person to leave the game.......re-gained your place with my birthday bonus points giveaway......& came so so close to qualifying for Saturday's knockout stage......but shrewd tactical play (I think) by Iron Chris sadly denied you your place.

Many many thanks Scaaty, BigC & Sparky (& of course all the other players) for taking part in what turned out to be a bit of a marathon game. I really do appreciate the time & effort you all put in, & hope you gleaned some enjoyment along the way. :thumbs :)

Final Placings

1. Mathare 42.72 points with 26 wins
2. Iron Chris 16.95 points with 27 wins

3. Sparkyminer 13.96 points with 25 wins
4. Bigcumba 0.59 points with 20 wins

i) the player with the highest points total
ii) the player with the most wins (most bingo numbers crossed off all 3 cards)
AND.....as it's coming up to Christmas.....
ANY other player who has a HIGHER points total than player (ii) above.....

4 x 2pt EW bets and 2 x 1pt WIN bets on any 6 horses in any 6 races
etc

DEAL/NO DEAL GAME

Mat (& hopefully some spectators), I'm ready when you are.....

There are 14 boxes (1-14) containing the following 14 prize amounts, the contents of which are known ONLY by my appointed independent adjudicator who I shall now introduce as the one and only Vegyjones.

£0
£0
£1
£3
£5
£7
£10
£15
£20
£30
£40
£50
£75
£100

I must stress that I DO NOT know which prize amounts Vegy has put in which box.

So Mat, all you have to do to get the show on the road is to pick which box you want & when you give the nod, shall we adjourn to the chat room, as long as everybody can access it, otherwise we'll have to play here?

Good Luck. :thumbs
