To be honest, I think it's great that people are trying to move away from the joke that are big business football clubs.

I recently went to my first premiership game (spurs) and was shocked to find that a ticket was over forty quid, for a pretty middle of the road game.

In Ireland, our Gaelic Games stadium (Croke Park) regularly sells out (80,000+) for the all-Ireland championships - yet not one of the players are paid a penny.

These soccer prima donnas are not interested in Manchester, Liverpool, London or any of the places they play for. They are only interested in their back pocket, and will fcuk off once they've had their fill.

In Ireland, the Gaelic players play in front of a full house on a Sunday, and go to their regular work the next day.

A ticket for Hill 16 (standing terrace) would be €15 (around 11 quid), and a seat would cost €25-€30 (18 to 25 quid). More importantly, the players have to be from the county they play for.
This gives the supporters a real sense of pride and enjoyment when their team win. The great thing is.. A family can afford to go and support their team each game.

If I lived in England, I seriously doubt I'd be able to fork out forty our fifty quid a week for each member of my family.

I think soccer has become a bit of a joke and supporters are simply following a business nowadays. More power to the normal joe soap!

And in case anyone thinks I'm talking of a Mickey Mouse stadium, here's a pic: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/91/Croke_park_all_ireland.jpg/800px-Croke_park_all_ireland.jpg

I just think that we should start having more pride in where we're from, and the people that live there. That's the reason were supposed to support our teams after all.

Yep, Towcester is still free which is absolutely brilliant. You could have a family day out and all it would cost is your betting money
