BMI Customer Service!!!

What is it with companies these days, as it is not the first time, it's happened with other companies.

I contacted BMI to ask why my airmiles for our flights March hadn't been credited, and they replied to contact on the address xxxxxx@xxx.xxx

Keith e-mailed BMI customer services with a query. They replied telling him to e-mail a different department. Why could the first respondent just forward the e-mail themselves?
