Well get rid of all the useless muppets at the top levels, and blend all the forces into one for a start. Then dump as much paperwork as you can, police record all the evidence on cheap digital recorders off Ebay from China, and minimum wage secretaries type it out for them.

I see they will be doing a British version of CSI for TV: Criminally Slow Investigations.

Personally I think it will be very easy to save a lot of money on many things including policing without negatively affecting the service to the public. There is so much waste.
