Thanks Rick, I'm going to watch this. Is it a film? Or the beginning of a new series? It's a three-part series but each episode is feature-length (90 minutes) and is a self-contained story (other than continued character development, of course) based on the Arthur Conan Doyle books but set in the modern era

It is 3, 90 minute episodes John on Sunday nights, the next 2 begin at 8-30pm I think. By the sounds of it they will be making more of them. It is co-written by Stephen Moffat who I believe writes Doctor Who now.

Well think they made them in 2001 so nearly 10 years. That decade did go quick though didnt it? Getting old my :butthead:...you're still in your twenties aren't you? :ermmm

I was amazed to see recently that Life On Mars started in 2005. In Canada I saw (but didn't watch) that there was a US version of it on there. Why do they have to remake everything? It would be like us remaking The Wire in Peckham or something - it doesn't need to be remade! The Office is the same, not only did they remake it they made extra series.

Yes I saw the first US episode of Life on Mars...it didnt work did it? It had Michael Imperioli from The Sopranos, think it was shown on the FX channel. I don't know what it is about the Americans, is it arrogance that they can make it better? I have never watched the american 'Office', it could be brilliant I really don't know. They do have to do everything to death though dont they, they make 6 or 7 series when 2 or 3 will do.

Exactly Scooby. The reason The Office will remain as a classic is because like Fawlty Towers they stopped it before the idea got old. I have seen the odd american office and for me it just doesn't work, although I do like the guy who plays the David Brent role.
Talking about the whole Gene Hunt series, loved the Blue Peter garden reference :laughitupsmilie:

There was a good comment I heard on the radio when that came out when someone said why isn't it called Kung Fu Kid because he doesn't do karate.

Jackie Chan was talking about this on the chris Moyles show.
Apparently they wanted to call it Kung-Fu Kid because it is Kung-Fu they use, but the people who made Kung-Fu Panda had apparently copywrited (or whatever it is to preserve a name) every possible variation of Kung-Fu whatever, including Kung-Fu Kid, so they weren't left with much alternative.
