OK.....here we go......
Please checkout the GAME TABLE below or click HERE (http://www.win2win.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=5167&d=1305418139) to see who's voted for who & your scores.
Scoring
The person finishing with the overall highest score will be declared the winner.
Each person will start with 100 points.
Points will be added or deducted to/from this score using the following rules:
i) If you correctly predict the final placing of any of your nominated countries: 12 points will be ADDED to your score.
ii) If any of your nominated countries finish in their respective Top 5 or Bottom 3 zones but are incorrectly placed within those zones…..
10pts will be ADDED to your score if the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing = 1
8pts will be ADDED to your score if the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing = 2
6pts will be ADDED to your score if the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing = 3
4pts will be ADDED to your score if the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing = 4
For example: If you predict that the UK will finish in 2nd place but they ACTUALLY finish in 4th place….the difference between their actual placing (4) and predicted placing (2) ……4-2 = 2, so 8 points will be added to your score.
iii) If any of your nominated countries fail to finish in their respective Top 5 or Bottom 3 zones, the difference between the country’s actual placing & your predicted placing will be DEDUCTED from your score.
For example: If you predict that the UK will finish in 4th place but they ACTUALLY finish in 21st place…. 21 – 4 = 17 points will be deducted from your score.

You said that last year Vegy.....and look what happened!!

Why does everyone think that Spain will be in the bottom 3?
Just heard it for the first time.....it's my idea of a perfect 'Eurovision' type of song.
I would bet on it doing better than finishing in the last 3.....though knowing my luck.....
scoobydoo
14th May 2011, 21:53
Foo Fighters on BBC3....much different to Eurovision! :laugh

Biggest surprise for me was Iceland, that for me was a classic Euro song, and I put it in my bottom 3 on the strength of the betting market so that could cost me in the comp, and Moldova was quirky and rather good too. Georgia, bit of metal style was decent...
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 22:29
I liked the Iceland song too.
Should have listened to all the songs before I made my selections.

14th May 2011, 22:33
Blimey.....UK top of the leaderboard...for how long?
vegyjones
14th May 2011, 22:35
That's why all put Spain to finish bottom 3 Ada... no one votes for them... Come on Denmark

I do despair of the British public that vote on these things sometimes. 12 points for Jedward:headbange
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 22:44
UK give Ireland 12 points.
Will Ireland reciprocate?
France were 3/1 now 150/1 and I had the for 2nd place...
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 22:50
I must admit I only picked France for my top 5 purely because they were red hot favourites.
It's certainly not going their way at the moment, is it?
Oh, and pleeeease don't let Jedward win it!!!!!
vegyjones
14th May 2011, 22:58
Woo, 3 in the top 5!
Graham Norton says the bookies dont normally get it wrong and there may be a late surge for France. At 1000/1 on betfair I doubt it!
Go Spain, 3rd from last..... Now stay there.
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 23:02
I think Iron Chris might be facing a bit of a struggle this year.
Quote from Attheraces: For me France are by far the most likely winner and value at anything above Evens.
Oh poo... Spain just got 2 points.
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 23:09
Those of you who have Estonia in your top 5 are going to be hit hard when it comes to the scores for this game me thinks...

Having Italy and Greece in my bottom 3 iseems terminal at the moment.
6points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheGoodGuy
14th May 2011, 23:13
Oh dear....I have Italy in my bottom 3 and Romania in my top 5.
Don't think I'll be anywhere near winning this. :lickme
Ha Ha Ha.......Ireland only gave the UK 6 points....typical huh?
I have spain in 3rd to last. Everything else is rubbish.....
vegyjones
14th May 2011, 23:22
Shame nearly everyone had Spain in 23rd. Nullifies my correct position poonts
Attherace will be croaking about this:
Looking at potential dangers to France, I was keenest on Denmark and Bosnia & Herzegovina just ahead of Azerbaijan before the Danes and Bosnians were handed very low draws after their semi-finals which could mean AZERBAIJAN are the main threat now from stall 19 and they appeal in the ‘Without France’ market at around 11/2 with a little save on DENMARK at 14/1. Sticking with the Danes, they are probably still worth getting with in the Top Scandinavian market as Finland and Sweden are also drawn low (Iceland are late but are big outsiders).

Well it's time for me to retire to my darkened room to sort out the scores.
I honestly can't call this one at the moment.......I still think Iron Chris may have lost his crown, but I'm only speculating.
Are you all going to stay up & wait for the final scores.....I'll try and be as quick as possible!!!

Hi guys....
Many thanks to you die-hards (you know who you are) who have yet again supported this game for the 6th consecutive year.
I really do appreciate your continued support and here's hoping we can do it all again next year.
Many congratulations Scoobydoo....I'm not sure whether you are going to be dancing in the street after taking Iron Chris's Eurovision crown....along with now having the dubious title of Win2Win Eurovision 2011 Champion.....but it puts the pressure on for next year doesn't it? :cuck
Scooby, please could you PM me an Email address that I can pass on to Keith so that he can send you your winning £10 Amazon Voucher.

I DEMAND that this result is made VOID, the change in the voting has totally wrecked my system and I also thought I had secured enough votes for my countries for them to finish where I needed, however it has come to light that other people had been offering 'sweetners' for people to change their votes at the last minute....:yikes::biggrin:
Seriously, WELL DONE Scooby on taking the crown, there is a strange empty feeling this morning..... Unlucky Yerots, a great effort...:thumbs
Thanks to Ada for keeping the competition alive and putting his time and effort into things for us again...:thumbs

Thanks Bigc. I agree, the voting was no different was it...even the German crowd were aware of it booing when a country did. I missed Ireland's vote, did they give the UK 12 points does anyone know?

Pity that despite the so called fairness of the phone vote, the same old political voting went on!
I don't think that it is as political, and I am sure that it is more down to countries bordering each other being into the same music at the time or perhaps knowing of the people representing their border countries.
A bit like the UK giving 12 points to Ireland because most people know Jedward.
I do think that the fact you have countries scoring that do not even participate is always going to favour countries in the scandinavian group, the balkan group and the former soviet group.
Thanks Laf. Typical... & we gave you 12 pts for those 2 muppets as well! Last time I am voting...I mean...I'm glad I never ever vote! :laugh
I was expecting the UK to give Ireland 12 pts because Jedward are so well known over there. I dont think Blue were ever that popular over here plus I thought they were pretty rubbish last night. Send Take That next year and you'll definately get 12 pts!

I thought Jedward were absolutely awful...so they didnt let me down. It wouldnt matter who the UK sent, we still wouldnt win...we could send The Stones and Europe would still say non. Next year we are rumoured to be sending Blue Peter...with this is one I made earlier.

As Ireland's economy is so fragile and their borrowing so huge in today's world, they probably didn't even want to win Eurovision this year as it would be probably too expensive for them to have to host it next year if they won.....hence entering Jedward this year...(I bet they were cacking themselves when the lads became quite strong favourites at one point.)
But seriously, surely it's got to be profitable in the long run for ANY country to win and then host Eurovision......maybe as long as they don't make a habit of winning consecutive years.....because....
....I could be wrong but didn't the same kind of thing happen back in the '90s.....Ireland won Eurovision something like 4 years out of 5, which proved to be so expensive to keep hosting the next event, it nearly brought their TV company RTE to its knees financially, so they purposely fielded naff entries so they could save themselves from more expense.
They should of taken a leaf out of our UK book....we've been doing that for 14 years....it would have saved Ireland millions :laugh
