A rare moment of sanity in British football. Most club owners, not being proper supporters, can't wait to flog their ground off to the highest bidder (creepy religious sects who hold their followers captive or land mine manufacturers would do as long as they had the cash you suspect), all in the name of progress and 'moving the club forward' of course.

Loyal fans who were stumping up their hard-earned at the gate long before the current owners had heard of the club and are inconvenienced by stadium moves to other locations can just put and shut up.

I was watching the highlights of a Championship game at the weekend and when one of the players scored, on instinct he ran over to the stands with his fist in the air, except there wasn't one fan sitting there to share the celebration. A club just below Premiership level on a sunny Saturday afternoon and you could've fitted an army into the gaps in the ground.

David Sullivan's experience in running both a football club and another type of business could lead him to make a bid to Chelsea's owners and turn Stamford Bridge into Europe's biggest jazz emporium. After all, over the years the ground has played host to a great many monkey spankers (blimey, that rhymes), often to be found sitting in executive boxes, knocking one out and knocking back the champers.
