Hmm, the same folks who trousered a £30,000 wage rise in 2 short years and dumped out of hours working (very patient friendly I must say).

Wtih shifting demographics, agreements on pensions aren't set in stone and if you can't sort out your own retirement package when earning 100 grand a year there's something badly wrong with your budgeting.

I mean, how the hell do doctors think the rest of us manage?! Many people either can't afford any kind of private pension or don't have access to an occupational pension, something which doctors and others conveniently ignore.

Horror stories of patients being turned away from surgeries after being told there's nothing really wrong with them only to subsequently discover they have a terminal illness and the appalling lack of care in some hospitals mean medical staff aren't held in the high esteem they once were.

Gordon Brown pumped tens of billions into the NHS so it can't all be blamed on the old 'lack of resources' excuse. There are incompetents and just plain uncaring people in the health service just as there are in every other employment sector, the difference being of course is that lives aren't usually at stake in other jobs. Concentrate on your patients, Dr Finlay, not on your bloated terms & conditions.
