"I d like to think that Black Monk might go one better at Salisbury in the evening. He was unlucky at Nottingham first time out in that Pat Dobbs dropped his whip in the last 100 yards. They were only beaten a length and the third has won since, so, hopefully, Dobbsy can do the business this time.
"At Sandown's evening meeting, Jubilee Diamond run in the opener. She sparkled in her work on Tuesday and looks sharp enough for the five furlongs., so, hopefully, she can kick off with a win.
" Also Master of War, a newcomer runs up at Haydock. He is a Compton Place colt who has done a couple of nice bits of work, and his second dam, Gharam, won the French 1000 Guineas, so he, too, has a pedigree."
