That's going to be a mighty big pay off in a couple of years when the fans are calling for his head as inevitably happens at every club!

Is 8 years some kind of record? I can't remember a manager being given a longer contract, especially these days with the managerial merry-go-round.

I think it must be, Wenger or Ferguson would be the only others I can think of getting anywhere near that long a contract
