Hmm, these would be the same doctors who didn't say 'No, that's too much, we've got terrible illnesses to cure' when that prize buffoon Patricia Hewitt sanctioned a deal where GPs received a pay rise of 26% and dumped out of hours working.
And doctors had the cheek to threaten a strike over their pension! What kind of financial illiterate can't make provision for their own pension after earning a high salary for 30 odd years?
I don't see why taxpayers should fund a generous pension if doctors choose to spend their salaries on large houses and private schools for their offspring. All that money for £100k plus salaries for GPs has got to come from somewhere so pardon me if I regard concern for the welfare of patients as bogus or at best half-hearted.
