Problems logging into secure sites

All of a sudden this afternoon I'm having difficulty accessing sites which require a secure login. I can access forum etc which require a password but sites such as betfair, betdaq, barclaycard etc I can't login ? The site loads fine but just seems to freeze when I click the login button on any of these sites. It is the same whether I use explorer 6.0 or Mozilla. ANy ideas ? BTW, I'm running windows 98.

Hmm. After having problems all evening it seems to have sorted itself out on its own and I can now access all the sites which I was having problems with. I suspect it was something to do with Java but I don't understand how it just fixed itself all of a sudden seeing as numerous scans and reboots did nothing thjis afternoon. Thats a strange one.

Ok this is getting silly. Its doing it again now. The same sites will load fine but seem to hang when clicking the 'login'. Hotmail, Barclaycard, Fidelity, Cahoot etc. ANy ideas ?

Something to try, have seen this a few times.

Use drtcp available from http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp

Set the MTU on your network card to 1460 see if that helps, if not drop it to 1430
