    2006 Quiz

Just a quicky quiz - ten questions on the year that's just gone. Take the first letter of each answer and rearrange them to form an anagram - that's the final answer I want.

If you want to hide your answer so that others can play along, feel free to do that too...good luck!

    1. Which country came third in the football World Cup?
    2. Slobodan Milosevic died while on trial for war crimes, but in which country was the trial taking place?
    3. How many planets do scientists now claim are in the solar system?
    4. What animal killed the Crocodile Hunter?
    5. Madonna adopted a boy from which African country?
    6. Which well-known "comedian" became a father for the second time?
    7. Which club became the first winners of a major trophy to be relegated from the Football League?
    8. Numbersixvalverde won the Grand National, but what is the nickname of the winning jockey?
    9. Who was eventually cleared of ball-tampering but banned for bringing cricket into disrepute?
    10. In which sport did England achieve a record seven successive defeats?

Bah...how many of you DIDN'T read the rules first? Don't post your answers but post the anagram of the first letters instead.

BTW, the answers you did post were correct...but negative rep all round anyway :D

Number 6 is easy really..I can guarantee that at least one member knows the answer. As for the anagram, I made it much too simple for you to guess last time but you should be able to get it with just nine letters :)

I was about to say I don't know whether to be happy or said and then it dawned on me who number 6 was. Then I was really tempted to neg rep you for being evil.

    Negative rep? What's that then?

For the benefit of everyone else, here are the answers - apologies for number 6 but I had to stop some of you from Googling :

    1. Which country came third in the football World Cup?
    Germany http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...06/4991644.stm

    2. Slobodan Milosevic died while on trial for war crimes, but in which country was the trial taking place?
Netherlands (he died while in prison at The Hague International War Crimes Tribunal)
    http://hague.bard.edu/

    3. How many planets do scientists now claim are in the solar system?
Eight (we've lost Pluto and gained asteroid 134340)
    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...luto-name.html

    4. What animal killed the Crocodile Hunter?
    Stingray

Oxford United (won the League Cup in 1986)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_United_F.C.

    8. Numbersixvalverde won the Grand National, but what is the nickname of the winning jockey?
    Slippers (Niall Madden)

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...an/5388402.stm
