Right folks, that’s it for another season. I re-started back in January where the bank stood at just over 16K which was around half of the all-time high (quite some time back now). I’m pleased to report that a profit of roughly five grand was achieved which pleases me greatly as I was fearing I had lost the touch in handicaps. It also puts me into a good position when this starts back in January 2010. The reason I now only run it from Jan to April/May is because I’ve realised that NH handicapping during the summer (and early season) is very difficult and unreliable so I now prefer to wait until mid season when the form is well and truly settled. This means less bets, but I think it gives me an edge. Thanks for the kind comments along the way.

Starting Bank: £1,000 (Jan 2007)
Bank all-time high: £30,407.80
Bank all-time low: £609.37
Bank balance when re-opened in Jan 2009: £16,140.47
2009 profit: £4,972.10

Closing bank on 3rd May 2009: £21,112.57

As I say, the bank will be re-opened next season.

Thanks folks. I must say, it's been hugely enjoyable and I've managed to make some nice €€€ along the way, but it's bloody hard work!

To be honest, I find it easier to make money on the flat so I welcome its return. Once again, I'm going back to full time punting this year for the season so fingers crossed for that
